That looks like revenue for the year of $1m compared to forecast of $3m. (Plus loss compared to profit)

Am I right?

I don't think things are as bad looking forward as the huge price drop seems to imply. SOunds like they're not doing too bad for a junior miner. Good to have xplanations of the delays and fears which are done for now. Rome wasn't built in a day. Looking forward, prospects are still very good. Who knows who might put in a low-ball bid?

On first read, I was not too impressed either - but need to read it again.

Production not as high as expected and sales price down slightly.. Not sure about anyone else but doesn't sound too fantastic to me.

Why are they talking of diversifying now? They haven't really demonstrated that Burundi is profitable (yet). Where are they going to get the money for another project somewhere else? They might need to raise to keep the operation in Burundi going.

Bo Doodak, no option for me to close anything. It definitely says only for subscribers.

My worry, perhaps unwarranted, is why the company feels the need to diversify now, probably away from Burundi

The share price is just drifting at present so not too worried at present

absolutely, there is some directional change this time from Martin it seems. So indeed they are looking to expand (perhaps troubled tantalus in madagascar where Thyssen has similar interest ? - a wild guess).

This team of Adonis has already delivered production in first year of listing. So it is a flying start (except the SP!)

Downstream was always on cards but in longer term plan. I guess they realised in 6 months that 70%+ discount is eroding the profit so as soon as we move to downstream its better. But then, it needs some money (i.e. loan or going to market again).

Just click to close the box, and you can read it.

Don't recall Eales ever mentioning the ''company regularly reviews other investment opportunities in Burundi and across Africa'' before.

Subtle changes? - investigation of renewed focus on moving downstream

You can't begin to second guess at the reasons behind these geopolitical moves mp79. There's a whole other level above the nation state that holds no allegiances to any country. On a national level adding a 10% tariff on something you don't produce is of course stupid and suicidal, but as I said, the level above pulling the strings doesn't care about that. Mark my words, sooner or later the US (and the West in general) is going to fall from grace big time - to allow for the rise of the East - and it's all by design. Traitors within our midst - although they never had any allegiance to the states they are betraying in the first place, but it seems a reasonable way to describe what is going on.

Reading BBC news today, I came across list of additional products that US intends to place additional 10% tariffs on (link:
hxxps://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/301/2018-0026%20China%20FRN%207-10-2018_0.pdf )

On page 47 it lists rare earths HTSUS subheading 2805.30.00 Rare-earth metals, scandium and yttrium, whether or not intermixed or interalloyed

On page 52 it lists RR oxides HTSUS subheading 2846.90.20 Mixtures of rare-earth oxides or of rare-earth chlorides

So as I understand US proposes to apply 10 percent ad valorem duty on these items from I guess end of September.

So my question is: Why would US increase tax on Rare Earths metals considering the fact that they don't have much inhouse Rare Earth production? Is n't it China that should do that instead of US?

How long before China answers Trump with a ban on all REE exports?

RNW gains cred. as it gets producing, but I'd like to see monthly prod'n figures.
Good news increasing viable reserves will help nav.

Interesting posts, aston.
No comment on political situation in Burundi.
Resource and project expansion look good.

First target here is 400 tonnes/month;
Should take care of itself with that.
High profit margins + reserves to expand into.

I hold.

thanks Maccamcd.

May 2018 presentation popped-up on company website in last few days i guess.

1. Brokers are now only Arden Partners (Hannam dropped)
2. Next update is in June
3. Gasagwe will run for 2 years
4. Kiyenji appears to be more than 150 m tall mountain next to small Gasagwe hill? (a hugh potential of high grade REE?) where they drilled only till 32 m.
5. Still four other areas to be drilled.
6. To me, it seems this year will be defining year for rainbow in term of what it holds.
7. I notice from May 2018 presentation on company website that Miton and L&G have not sold or bought any since Feb. Their holding almost remains same. So if we wonder reasons for steep rise from 14 to 18 and then 18 to 24 (then back to 19 - 20) in last two months, it can be either entirely driven by general public or there is/are other institutional investor(s) (with <5% share) that we don't know of.
8. Very puzzling pleasant positive moment this morning but the fact is this share can be pulled up or down by pushing extremely short numbers into play (Again this confirms that this is very tightly held share).
