Thanks for comments fig..

(I think) I understand how the standard mining algorithm works... but not sure how the quantum computer would handle it.

From what I know of QCs, they are (supposedly) more suited to a more "abstract" problem (such as identifying the optimal route for a salesman to visit many locations), and as such MAY be better suited to finding correct block solutions faster than a conventional rig.

...and providing they can "solve" faster per unit power consumed & per unit equipment cost they will undoubtedly displace existing rigs, as ASICS displaced GPUs which displaced CPUs.

Yes following your post to Steve I have been looking at the DWave website funnily enough.

'Our customers are building quantum applications for problems as diverse as logistics, portfolio optimization, drug discovery, materials sciences, scheduling, fault detection, traffic congestion, and supply chain management. What problem can we help you solve?  '

It all starts from research..
The BTC mining paper of 2011 is a global industry success, talking $2-$3T crypto market now.

Etherium is now $500bn valuation, maybe more not checked recently..

Quantum BTC mining is next going to be massive, QBT only need a snippet of the overall market to be unicorn. Being at the forefront on the tech with partner interest, and ancap of £25m, we will succeed.
The global Energy saving, greener miners, efficiency is the biggest driver here.

Hazl,

There is a lot info out there on the net which has not been shared on the BB’s.

Hence some posters are far more confident and relaxed about the RnD and their investment alike, and what it means in terms of game changing revenues and big orders/ interests from competitors and new interested parties.

The company they have been working with Dwave wants this to be successful as much as QBT CEO wants this to be a success. Hand in hand.

Steve,

The beauty of quantum computing and “annealingR21; as opposed to using gateway, is research papers reveal the errors are minimal. This is a very importnant point as DWAVE are the only corp offering annealing at this moment.

Very few errors to deal with. Reduction in errors.
Happy to share article at some point, when I am less busy.
Makes QBT RND approach rather unique on the planet ....
The team at QBT are at the forefront of this new technology for major success with Quantum BTC mining, hence the 3rd party client interests as mentioned by CEO.

I’m expecting news sooner, on testing as previous rns was delayed due to market turmoils.

May 15th - CEO 10p options kick in also...✔ʊ39;

I saw a recent post here (or maybe elsewhere) about quantum computers being error prone and thus "unsuitable" for mining.

But providing they are quick, the number of errors shouldn't matter too much since the beauty of the Hash function is that it is impossible to back-calculate but REALLY EASY to check... So brute force is needed to test many possible "solutions", and when a seemingly correct one is found, it's simply to check if correct (i.e. whether there was an error) before publishing it...

In the same way that others can simply check it's a correct solution..

..Or maybe quantum logic operates in a completely different manner...IDK.
