‘ Proof-of-concept tests are planned for Q1 2023’

tbf. Nine to twelve months just to install an MMU in a refinery, which doesn’t exist yet. Makes me wonder why dry-docking was even a talking point at the AGM ?

Note ‘ Each POC Trial is estimated to require 1,000 metric tons of fuel ‘

That’s not much less than weight of the giant container ship itself.
( MSC Leandra is 53,700 tons empty )

Note fuel produced by QFI and PURCHASED by MSC.

The easiest most straight forward explanation I have seen.

'In the UK, Quadrise Fuels has signed a Framework Agreement with MSC Shipmanagement Limited of Cyprus, a 100% subsidiary of MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA.

Under the Agreement, proof-of-concept tests and subsequent operational trials will be carried out using both bioMSAR™ and MSAR® fuel on one or more commercial container vessels, as essential precursor steps to the intended commercial supply of these fuels to MSC’s global fleet.

'The proof-of-concept tests for each of bioMSAR™ and MSAR® will be conducted on a vessel now owned by MSC that was previously used for prior successful MSAR® demonstrations on a 69MW 2-stroke engine and commence by no later than 31 December 2022, subject to the ongoing availability of the vessel. Each POC Trial is estimated to require 1,000 metric tons of fuel to confirm engine performance on the vessel.

Subject to positive results from the POC Trials, the fuels will undergo subsequent operational trials to provide commercial operating experience with a view to obtaining Letters of No Objection from the engine manufacturer after proving operational viability of bioMSAR™ and MSAR® at both an interim (midway) and final stage (after circa 4,000 operating hours).

It is estimated that approximately 25,000MT of fuel will be required for each of the Trials, with fuel produced by Quadrise and purchased by MSC. In conjunction with the Trials, MSC and Quadrise will jointly continue discussions with other marine engine suppliers to investigate testing bioMSAR™ and MSAR® on their engines.'

Interesting. So proof of concept trial going on “right now” ? What, on the boat, at sea, without the fuel?

In its attempts to fully decarbonise the sector, the marine industry must be cautious that its space-race to Net-Zero does not ignore the significant GHG reductions that can currently be achieved by investing in the deployment and use of transition fuels.

When compared to LNG and FAME, bioMSARâ„¢ offers significant advantages:

Higher CO2 savings and improved engine efficiency
A lower fuel cost per unit energy
No competition for biofuel or gas feedstock
Low-cost implementation
Low safety risks, including no methane slip

With Quadrise currently in discussions with MSC Shipmanagement, regarding bioMSARâ„¢ trials on container vessels in 2022, we are excited to be playing a leading role in helping the marine industry to achieve its decarbonisation goals whilst achieving significant cost savings.

Anyway I have great results elsewhere today.....you can't win them al l as they say!

'We expect commercial volumes of bioMSARâ„¢ to be produced following our vessel trial programme with MSC, and also following the finalisation of plans for commercial implementation in Utah.'

The 'proof of concept trials are going on now....QI 2023...probably why the shorters are trying so hard!

'MSC – In July 2022, Quadrise signed a Framework Agreement with MSC to carry out trials of bioMSARâ„¢ and MSAR® fuels with a view to the commercial supply of one or both of the fuels to MSC’s global fleet. Proof-of-concept tests are planned for Q1 2023, following which MSC will run the LONO trials. With positive trial progression, Quadrise, MSC and other key stakeholders expect to commence discussions for commercial supply to MSC’s global fleet.'

Quadrise Fuels International PLC - Quadrise Fuels International extends partnership with Nouryon

Quadrise Fuels International PLC (AIM:QFI, OTC:QDRSF) has extended an exclusive deal with partner Nouryon.

And it takes 6 to 12 months to tie in an MMU machine to a refinery, and there isn’t even a refinery or a bunker port. So the whole Q1 trial thing is a farce isn’t it?

I can’t see any sign of that?
