17/1/2007 15:22 | from the latest RNS "Ministers were forced to reject claims that a delay in awarding the work was due to Treasury concerns that giving it to Qinetiq would raise a potential conflict of interest. The MoD insisted the delay was due to the complexity of the scheme." HOORAH, HOORAY, YIPEE If Roget was alive today, the Thesaurus definition would have to include 'run amok with the budget and make a pile in the process'. The antonyms must surely include efficient, low cost, tight, penny pinching, sensible etc | ccnp
17/1/2007 14:39 | Well this afternoon´s been rather a damp squib, but as was posted earlier, QQ should have some broker upgrades soon. | via con
17/1/2007 12:59 | Thanks ttg, but infact it only was released a few minutes ago. I find the ADVFN News page more reliable than the announcement flags on the monitors as once an announcement is made, no further indication is given when a new one is released. | via con
17/1/2007 12:53 | Further on RNS 'A teleconference for analysts and investors will be hosted by Doug Webb, QinetiQ's chief financial officer, at 4:00pm on Wednesday 17th January 2007. Please call +44 (0)20 7070 5465 to attend, quoting 'QinetiQ' as the password' | johnsoho
17/1/2007 12:52 | many tks via con missed that | ttg100
17/1/2007 12:49 | RNS out from the company confirming contract win. Commenting on the announcement Graham Love, chief executive of QinetiQ, said: "We are delighted that Metrix has been appointed as preferred bidder for the MOD's DTR programme. DTR and the Metrix solution provide the chance to make a step change in training delivery, supported by a bespoke environment for training our armed forces for the 21st century. We look forward to working closely with the MOD over the coming months to achieve financial close." Plus there´s news of teleconference this afternoon at 16.00 uk time | via con
17/1/2007 12:36 | Buy the rumour sell the fact. The old saying holds good yet again and it never quite reached my target of 215p to sell. However, I hear there is a distinct possibility of an upgrade and buy recommendation in the pipe-line. If this is correct then we could well move on up strongly. | aphrodites
17/1/2007 12:31 | does me bit of base building around here would be good | ttg100
17/1/2007 09:28 | I agree - good news announced today should see it peak further. Around 220 I hope!? Mind you - the fact that I hold some is never a sign of great optimism :-) | lovelyjubbly
17/1/2007 09:22 | Largely discounted , but look at the last 2 weeks chart- is it really going to plateau? | wad collector
17/1/2007 09:10 | now on 20+x..which will fall as the earnings on the new contract is absorbed, maybe still ok just, momentum still behind it, but no bargain any more...cant be far away from fair value? | utsushi
17/1/2007 08:59 | great news but discounted. | utsushi
17/1/2007 08:58 | Argus or the Echo? :-) I trust the FT this morning tho - not that I buy it - no babyclothes from one month to the next.... Wonder when the news will be announced!?!? | lovelyjubbly
17/1/2007 08:45 | The Times say they have it. | hawks11

17/1/2007 08:21 | Pity about these Rampers........ yoou'd think ADVFN could set up a filter of some sort ..... anyway, onto the subject: Seems like picking up a few of these last summer at 1.68 now looking not such a bad decision. Be interesting to see where QQ sits once the cash is flowing in from the contract. Only trouble is I trust this government about as far as I can spit backwards.......... hope I'm wrong there. A number of former building & engineering companies who "moved" into the Support Services sector to take advantage of PFI type stuff wish they never had. The stake held in QQ may persuade them to behave properly on this one. The government, that is. Onwards..... | damanko

17/1/2007 07:28 | Well done QQ | via con
17/1/2007 07:12 | LONDON (AFX) - A consortium led by Qinetiq Group PLC, the UK defence company in which the government holds a 19 pct stake, has won the bulk of a 16 bln stg army training contract, the Financial Times reported. Citing unnamed industry executives, the FT said the Qinetiq consortium has been chosen as the provider of all non-military training to the armed forces. That accounts for most of the 16 bln stg Defence Training Review contract, one of the biggest to be drawn up under the government's Private Finance Initiative. Ministers are expected to announce the deal today, the FT said. Qinetiq and its partners had faced competition from a rival consortium led by BAE Systems PLC and VT Group PLC. | aphrodites
