05/1/2018 09:01 | glenda seek help. No sane grown up uses emojis like that. You are a fool | elcapital2017
04/1/2018 19:46 | Well my first post here I am short because I believe they are well over valued and the property market in general is slowing down. There are still far too many estate agents and the ones that are still there will continue to offer discounts. I think PURP are too late to the party !! If it breaks below 400p and stays there for a few days I will be increasing my short. They are well overvalued at a MC of £1B all IMHO of course | parsons4
04/1/2018 18:14 | numb nuts It will always have to advertise. It is in a VERY competitive industry Easy Property will hurt them Them aside, there are other established virtual agencies that will continue to compete like YOPO, Tepilo, etc etc and it is fairly easy to start up with a decent chunk of cash | elcapital2017
04/1/2018 18:10 | ban of tobacco advertising a good illustration of the power of brand building. People still buy brand X although it is in a brown wrapper, cause they know the brand. PURP is brand building it won't always need to advertise. It might still be the brand leader by a country mile. It might not be in the future of course, but you pays your money and takes a view! | rogthepodge
04/1/2018 17:58 | Rog, Well if they don't, why are PURP wasting money advertising on TV then? I record virtually every program I watch, especially on satellite TV, and then watch the recording and skip through the ads. That saves 15 minutes on SKY and Discovery Channel, where the constant repetition of the ads is totally mind numbing! I suspect I may be in the minority though. I use an ad blocker on the web too. | andy
04/1/2018 17:19 | ITV being ITV digital terrestrial + ITV player + whatever's on Sky/Virgin et al. | minerve
04/1/2018 17:05 | does anyone still watch ads on tv? | rogthepodge
04/1/2018 16:58 | dangersimpson2 Many .coms are so reliant on advertising power because they really have no USP or if they do the barriers to entry are so low they can be easily copied. It really is a case of who is there first and how prepared and deep-pocketed their 'backers' are. One beneficiary must be ITV in this wave of .coms trying to gain market share and advantage whilst the money is there to spend. | minerve
04/1/2018 16:53 | Jaknife, Interesting correlation there, I wonder if the Google interest rises with the advertising spend? Without High Street offices, they will have to keep the advert spend up to maintain sales, as the above poster mentions too. | andy
04/1/2018 16:48 | It shows how reliant on advertising spend they are - in the UK they kicked off a big advertising campaign on boxing day. I don't think anyone would argue that they can generate sales growth if they want to, the issue is that without any sustainable competitive advantage the only way to do it is increasing ad spent which hits the bottom line. I still see this as a marginally profitable business going forward for this reason. Note how California still stays rock bottom because one assumes they have not spent any ad money there recently: | dangersimpson2
04/1/2018 16:15 | smokie, Agreed, and they're misleading IMO. They mention "commission free" but nothing about a non refundable advance fee, nor the 'loan', or other add ons. | andy
04/1/2018 16:14 | Who has put a bomb under the share price today? Glad I increased my short. | wiseacre
04/1/2018 16:11 | They have the worst TV ads ever. | o1dsmokie
04/1/2018 16:05 | Bulls trapped. Dropping like a ton of bricks. PURP going down with the decorations. | ltcm1
04/1/2018 16:01 | PURP Drowning, FOXT creeping higher, live in the real World! | ny boy
04/1/2018 15:37 | itcm1, Exactly, if their back office is small service may suffer if they expand too quickly. In my experience companies are always too slow to add to staff numbers. | andy
04/1/2018 13:33 | I don't think any of us meant that rog, I think most of us were saying that in the absence of real news there is scope for the price to be massaged up in late December. What will define this share is how fast they burn through their cash, if they do that is. I believe their back office is just a handful of people, if they really are selling houses in the quantity they are aiming for they will need a lot more than that. | ltcm1
04/1/2018 13:10 | yes there is usually a 'Santa Rally' money managers might be able to coax a good year-end. But they can't keep this going 365 days of the year. You guys! Really. Desperate. | rogthepodge
04/1/2018 10:40 | rogthepodge4 Jan '18 - 02:38 - 3919 of 3925 0 0 0 if you think NW can control the prices of his holdings, you are naive ------- Says the guy that backed QPP! That comment indicates you clearly don't know how the city functions. | andy
