Virgin does airlines. Did any other Virgin brand really match the success of the airline? ------- What? Have you never heard of Easy Hotels? I stay in them sometimes in Switzerland, very cheap in an expensive country! Easy Buses? You see them in London, they do airport runs! And have you not heard of Virgin Cable TV? Virgin mobile phones? Virgin credit card? | andy

24/10/2017 10:09 | - very interesting. For the true DIYer £295 gets you on the web and you take it from there. I have actually gone short CWD and FOXT, as they have relaxed from their recent declines. It seems relatively certain to me that profit will be wrung out of the entire sector. I am already short RMV - to some extent they are insulated, but as the likes of PURP and Easy Property gain market share I think people will get used to looking at more than one portal. For a look at Easy Property's listing map it looks like they are targetting local areas rather than a national campaign. If you put any random place into the search you might will come up with nothing, but expand the area and you will find a place with a concentration. For example in the West Midlands listings are concentrated on Walsall, and also Leamington Spa whilst in South West London Walton-on-Thames and Molesey have deep coverage. This is an interesting approach, and distinct from the brand awareness national advertising. Bulls are simply too bullish on PURP because they think there will be one winner who will get all the market, when in reality this is a trivial business and business model to replicate; there is no moat at all. | hpcg
24/10/2017 09:51 | Update on my estimate of market share of purplebricks based on properties for sale on purplebricks website vs rightmove for top 20 cities in UK: City 21-Sep 21-OctLondon 2.7% 2.7%Birmingham 5.4% 5.4%Leeds 5.3% 5.3%Glasgow 4.4% 5.0%Sheffield 3.5% 3.1%Bradford 3.9% 4.1%Edinburgh 3.4% 2.6%Liverpool 4.5% 4.1%Manchester 9.2% 9.6%Bristol 6.1% 5.7%Wakefield 8.4% 8.7%Cardiff 4.0% 3.6%Coventry 5.3% 6.9%Nottingham 3.0% 3.6%Leicester 3.6% 3.2%Sunderland 1.8% 2.3%Belfast* 62.5% 17.4%Newcastl 2.1% 3.1%Brighton 5.0% 4.7%Hull 8.6% 7.8%Total 3.74% 3.76% Usual caveats apply: - monthly data will be noisy - top 20 cities only cover quarter of uk population - definition of city areas may vary between sites - properties may cycle through sites at various rates based on these the change in market share is more relevant than the absolute values. 1st month of reporting shows no significant change in market share. Also this month checked percentage SSTC of total for same top 20 cities on rightmove vs purplebricks and they are very similar at 38.6% & 37.4% respectively. | dangersimpson2
24/10/2017 09:36 | andyhooley, No you didn't. Which of these do you think is a "lie", and please post the reasoning behind your accusation: Easy are probably quite a concern for PURP, as they are a trusted brand name. If you consider this to be a "lie", please state why. and I can see people having more trust there than PURP, If you consider this to be a "lie", please state why. PURP are resorting to threatening people with lawyers, and damaging their own brand in the process. If you consider this to be a "lie", please state why. | andy

24/10/2017 09:22 | Andy 24 Oct '17 - 09:04 - 2921 of 2921 1 1 Easy are probably quite a concern for PURP, as they are a trusted brand name, and I can see people having more trust there than PURP, especially as PURP are resorting to threatening people with lawyers, and damaging their own brand in the process. -------------------- There you go again Andy posting lies again. | andyhooley
24/10/2017 09:04 | Back to discussing the prospects for the company! I see that Easy Property are now advertising on the TV! Their prices, for a very limited package, are way below PURP, but their mid priced package is actually cheaper than PURP by £50. Easy are probably quite a concern for PURP, as they are a trusted brand name, and I can see people having more trust there than PURP, especially as PURP are resorting to threatening people with lawyers, and damaging their own brand in the process. The discounted online estate agency network seems to be becoming very crowded all of a sudden. There are no barriers to entry, and that makes PURP's business model vulnerable to competition, and it's arriving now. | andy

24/10/2017 00:01 | 'Rog', Clearly I don't! I suggest you read and try to comprehend my previous posts, I thought I made them easy to understand as well................ On any ADVFN thread you care to mention, there are far more bulls than bears, so if opinions expressed on ADVFN did influence the market, stocks would be going up, not down, simples! You really need to move on from TW, life is too short. | andy
23/10/2017 23:27 | Do you seriously think a £1 billion market cap company's share price can be "talked down" by a handful of people posting on ADVFN? Really, do you seriously believe that? 'Andy' clearly YOU believe that! | rogthepodge |
