24/5/2018 20:21 | Rog, They can join the party if they don't want Chinese bosses. Bring on the feeding frenzy I say....... | hermana3
24/5/2018 19:50 | But we aren't just talking about a farm out of Barryroe, but possibly a takeover of PVR by Chinese interests. What would Total and ENI feel about that? | rogerlin
24/5/2018 18:32 | Rog, Ratifying Barryroe deal is a given. Partner has money and clout. | hermana3
24/5/2018 09:46 | Roger, that's a stretch. This will be Irelands first oil in a relatively small oilfield. There are no Irish majors to take this to production so it will have to be a foreign company. The Chinese have only farmed in to Barryroe and are as good as any if they came up with the best deal. It's the other fields that will be interesting if we're still alive to see any of them to production. | 1cagney
24/5/2018 08:06 | If Irish govt don't want the Chinese to control Irish oil resources, perhaps they will not ratify the Barryroe farm out deal. | rogerlin

23/5/2018 12:56 | Pretty remarkable on a down day for the Sector.. and especially that volume. | ohisay
23/5/2018 12:27 | I know at this stage it is merely speculation as to who is buying, or indeed selling, shares at the present time but I would hesitate to link it to a takeover. I would welcome others thoughts but mine go along the lines of 'would an Irish government want the Chinese having significant control of the waters around Ireland, and whatever riches lie beneath, and what sort of political negotiations would be needed if that became a possibility'. For instance where would the oil from Barryroe, if successful, be channelled, Ireland or elsewhere?. How many other licences held by PVR could turn out to be equal or better than Barryroe. Maybe I'm thinking too deeply because I don't want any bids until the share price improves significantly. regards | peaeff
23/5/2018 11:03 | if the forthcoming RNS regarding buying of interest in PVR is regarding the chinese then I think they could easily want to buy further PVR shares (besides the 10% warrants) = will drive the share price up | srvsrv
23/5/2018 10:59 | PVR could be a take-over target for the chinese | srvsrv
