He probably forgot he even has those licences. Nothing for PVR to report until said company decides which marginal fields it plans to develop first alas.

Cep,All production would be helpful. Good news indeed but the market is yawning...

Surprised that TOR has not put out an RNS today saying how "delighted" he is about this. Maybe it hasn't even come up on his radar as yet. Anybody thought to phone H.O. about this?

Current estimated stoiip is 9.4 mmbo though, but 50 bopd is not to be sniffed at to start with

Helvick - 52 MMBO STOIIP

"two production plateau rate of c. 5,000 BOPD"

Gives LOGP @ 5% interest, 2.5mmbo and production of 250bopd
=> 10,000 days of production or 27 years assuming all that all can be extracted.

That is a tidy amount of production for a tiddler.

This is great news. A 2 year lease was signed which means they have to do something about it before 1st March 2018!

Steel, that is interesting, and they farmed into Helvick and Dunmore in February last year.
Seems like costs of rigs/technology advances are aligning now;

“At $50 per barrel most of these very small ones would not be viable – we need $60 or $70,” he said. But if we get these technological advances confirmed we could get a number of these going ahead.”

Marginal Field Development Company (MFDevCo) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a collaboration agreement with COSL Drilling Pan Pacific Limited (‘CDPL’) that will allow it to secure projects more cost-effectively, earlier and with less upfront capital.

"Alison Pegram, Managing Director of MFDevCo, commented, “Signing this agreement with CDPL is a major milestone for us as we move to complete negotiations on our initial target projects. The marginal field projects that we are focusing on are particularly well suited to this type of commercial arrangement, as there is no exploration risk,"

Hi GD. ABOUT THE 10TH OF DECEMBER I THINK....THAT WAS WHEN IT CAME UP ON MY RADAR.

GOOD POST BY STEEL ABOUT SOME PROGRESS AT LAST ON HOOK HEAD AND HELVICK. A WEE BIT VAGUE ON SPECIFICS THOUGH. WOULD BE NICE TO SEE A DRILL THIS SUMMER. HAS BEEN ON THE BACK BURNER A LONG TIME AND WOULD BE A GREAT BOOST FOR LANSDOWNE.

timberwolf3,

TOR may have stated that PVR did not want to a producer.

If one thinks about it Druid, Drombeg and Newgrange come good. The Corrib platform may be ideal to use with platform modifications for oil processing and transport via a new oil pipeline to the Mayo shore line or and FPSO which could be a lot cheaper than a new pipeline and dealing with the Mayo greens. The platform already processes gas and there is the gas pipeline to shore and onwards. Possibly our Pat has this in mind. Just an off the wall thought on my behalf.

Meanwhile, back with the marginal field development concept touted for Helvic and Dunmore many moons since, MFDevCo, as signed up a driller to the consortium:
