16/1/2023 15:41 | This is all rather reminiscent of the 'last tree standing' hullaballoo about TMT which was supposed to release a wave of cash for PRM but actually gained traction extremely slowly and, even today, hardly qualifies PRM as a 'growth stock'. The stages that the Randox stroke test have to go through are, firstly, that it has to get to market, secondly, that it has to gain widespread adoption by the NHS and other healthcare services and, thirdly, that we actually see the cash benefit to PRM. Given that the Randox information is all in the public domain, one might imagine that whatever benefit the market ascribes to it is already in the price. | jeffian

16/1/2023 11:24 | Peverill, It is a test which tells the clinic exactly how long ago the stroke occurred and whether it was an ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke. If it was ischaemic (as around 83% are) and took place less than 4.5 hours ago (which, with a decent ambulance service, is achievable) then a "clot buster" drug can be administered. If given within those conditions then "most" (undefined) people will make a full recovery. As the test is likely to cost a little less than £100 it would seem remarkable value. It would also save millions of people from severe disability. (over the years, that is) So I think it should be welcomed by most people. Randox (which is a private company, awash with money from Covid testing) are taking their time getting a CE test. They may be being incompetent, or simply lazy. They do have an experimental version on the market, but will not release the clinical version (which is where royalties kick in) without the CE test. I am assured the two tests (research and clinical) are identical. | goatherd
