i was just wondering - could they choose to sell say 51% of the company?

personally i would be happy with 100p but that's just me with my particular circumstances.

I would be very disappointed if they sold out now as the best possible price could only be around the quid mark. Imho the business is now derisked and ready for significant growth over the next few years. I believe something approaching 200p by end of 2013 is quite possible and onwards and upwards from there. WMH would be buying in right at the bottom and taking the upside away from the likes of me who have risked their capital since flotation. I hope Charles and co decide that now is too early to sell.

If an offer materialises, Telegraph said that W.Hill are looking at quiet a few companies regarding acquisition.

Wonder if quiet a few is as many as quite a few ;-)

Interesting. Hope it doesn't get taken out too cheaply - I'd be pretty disappointed with less than 100p per share...

From Bwin interims which out today. Appears to me that they rather behind in the mobile stakes...

Mobile - The mobile channel is not new for the Group with bwin having launched its first application back in 2001. However, with the advent of smartphone technology, the potential for the mobile channel has been revolutionised and we are determined to capture a meaningful share of any future revenue growth. To ensure we remain a leader in this strategically important and high-growth area, during the first half of 2011 we established a dedicated team focused on Mobile, Touch and Video. As more and more users are switching to mobile devices for their online gaming experience, this new unit combines our existing mobile expertise across the Group. We have had a very productive first six months of this year having launched an updated betting app for Android, allowing players to place live bets as well as pre-match bets and also launched an iPhone poker app in Austria, UK and France. Since the period end we also launched an Android poker app. We hope that this will build on the strong growth that we have already seen during the first half with an 89% increase in mobile pro forma gross gaming revenue that reached €10.2m (2010: €5.4m).

From Paddy Power interims out today...

This has been a great first half for Paddy Power. The excellent performance of the Online Division and the success of our mobile offering stand out.

A key driver of this growth continues to be our disproportionately large share of the rapidly growing mobile betting market. During the period, our mobile turnover was up 279% to €157m or 22% of total sportsbook stakes, with 35% of our online sportsbook customers transacting with us via mobile. This year we continued to roll out new mobile product with improved functionality and usability such as an enhanced live betting interface, football coupons and streamed racing pictures. We also released a mobile website tailored for Blackberry. Complementing the strength of the product has been sportsbook TV advertising dedicated to mobile (our choice of lead actress receiving, eh, 'royal approval'). Market research confirms that we have established Paddy Power as the brand regular online bettors in the UK most associate with mobile betting.

From PTEC results which out today...

Most recently, we announced the acquisition of Mobenga (for Eur8m and up to Eur15m deferred), the market-leading mobile enabler specialised in taking betting and gaming companies' business to the mobile channel. It is recognised as providing the most flexible platform for operators seeking to deliver sports betting on to smart phones and tablets.

For Playtech, this acquisition adds highly regarded technology in a segment viewed as being a key contributor to new player acquisition and the future growth in online gaming. Some operators are reporting in excess of one third of new business coming from this new channel, as mobile demonstrates it has come of age after a number of years of underperformance, and this percentage is expected to rise further.

The acquisition will also facilitate the integration of other mobile gaming offerings such as casino or games, uniquely positioning Playtech as the premier mobile gaming provider across a broad range of products. By integrating the market leading mobile sports betting platform delivering strong traffic generation, with Playtech's pre-eminent gaming capability, we are very well set to capitalise on one of the most significant of sector growth themes.

A fantastic, positive results statement.

The last trading statement mentioned that revenue in June was a record, now we get record trading in July too. The current trading seems even better, when you consider it's summer.

At some stage, I can see the share doing a 32red-style rise, as people realise the value of the technology and revenues being built in regulated markets.

All bodes well for the rest of the year, imo

financial results highlights

"Since the end of the financial year, the Company has enjoyed strong trading. In July 2011 the business enjoyed record revenues, with over £1m in cash deposits from players for the first time. The Company will continue to advise investors of progress on a quarterly basis as normal."

"With trading in the new financial year already looking very strong, with new product launches planned for this year and increased interest in our B2B offering, we have every confidence that we can turn our first mover advantage into a serious and sustainable market position in regulated markets globally."
