You just beat me too it :-)

Schmeichel story was a rumour on the back of the Mail today and confirmed on Sky just now.

Makes you wonder with PAS's connections at Man City whether they instigated this in some way for Man City.

Anyway, its a free transfer so I'd guess PAS get their money out of Schmeichel's fee somehow, rather than the transfer fee.

Just goes to show the repeat revenue here tho. The only transferred him to Villa about a year ago, have been paid all over the course of one year, now they transfer him again. I'd imagine that if a transfer goes ahead and then the play moves again within the first year then PAS will actually be paid twice at the same time for their fee where this overlaps. I'm thinking in the cases of Stan Collimore (spelling?) and John Hartsen who were going from club to club about 3 times in two years - great for PAS.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has agreed to join bitter rivals Manchester City.
City boss Kevin Keegan swooped for the Dane after Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor indicated the Old Trafford legend was not part of his future plans.

"I'm delighted to have signed a player with such huge experience," said City manager Kevin Keegan.

"He has a great stature in the game and, hopefully, he will have as big as impact at this club as Stuart Pearce."

Schmeichel's agent Paul Stretford confirmed the move, adding: "The club have put a contract together for one year, which Peter is very happy with and he will join before the start of next season."

Schmeichel, 37, won five English Premierships titles and the 1999 Champions League with United after joining them from Brondby in 1991 for £600,000.

I suspect this will be a 12 month contract, leaving him free to move on again next year.

As many as that, well just goes to show the quality of the players on the books.
Also agree that the ITV deal will have little impact on PAS.
I suspect PAS have less exposure to the nationwide clubs and players than its competitors.
Also with Man City, and possibly Wolves and WBA gaining promotion, exposure will be further reduced.

Am I correct that results will be out on 26th.

PAS have 28 players in the World Cup.

The argument for not naming their players is that it allows competitors to easily target them, I assume they know the industry and their competitors better than me.

The stock is withing T-10 close on results day from Tuesday, so buying should pick up from then imo.

Enjoy - I thought 40p was a fair target before the ITV Digital episode, can't see that this has affected their profits by more than 10%.

Would love to know how many PAS players will be involved, in the world cup.
The world cup is a great shop window for players, normally see lots of transfers after the world cup.

Great shame PAS are unwilling to advertise who it's players are.

If have done both, hopefully trying not to compare eps with ROI or NAV, LOL

Very comfortable, and as we are in a t-10 period of results, didn't think I would be able to get them under 20p so bought earlier this week. Even if there is no run up to results, once out, there should be an immdediate MM mark up for us to enjoy. Then people will pile in!.

Its a good call, I held these on floatation as you know its a subject close to my heart, but sold at 38p for a nice profit as people bailed. I have ABSOLUTELY no doubt that they will be there and over 50p again in the future, its big business, I just think they get tared as a soccer stock. I think they need to prove themselves to the City and we will going great guns (especially after the world cup)

Like CCG, HRN, CTO......easy money IMHO

From the recent statement from the company they sound like they are going to beat expectations well and truly.

If you compare to SM. or FAN these are cheap, too cheap.

minuteman,

You got you numbers mixed up. T&B forecast Pre-tax profits £2.7M not eps of 2.7.
T&B eps forecast is 1.84p giving p/e 12.

Moving up today, results 25 April.

Very oversold from the ITV Digital saga now.

Can see some big returns over a fortnight.

Finally starting to see some stability in the share price, the large sells of the past 2 weeks have appeared to have dried up. I think we will now see some shrewd buyers coming in at this level and i will personally be one of them.
Watch this one start to move pre results imho.

Agree totally, i to have set myself that target not sure however will see 20p to buy as always seems to bounce of the 20p mid market price, there is alot of commentators and tipsters who are backing this one and i would expect them to be promoting this company prior to results and around the results coming out.

I've not bought yet as have set myself a disciplined sub 20p target but, ITV digital have only been in the game 2 years.

Agents made plenty of cash before and they will plenty of cash after. It's not even as if many of PAS's players are in the Nationwide and those that are look like getting promoted.

ITV digital was the new boy on the block, not the soccer agents of this world. Chill out, it won't hamper them that much IMHO

Whats with the consistent drop everyday at the moment, would appear someone keeps offloading shares not large but it seems to keep dropping the price.

What with results only 3 weeks or so away surely people will start to buy in now, i will start to pick up some in batches soon as they look like a screaming buy to me, do you own research and i think you will come to the same conclusion.

ITV Digital news and long term impact on British (and therefore European) football business ... is very definitely ... BAD NEWS ... for anyone holding PAS.

The Ignorance

Buy low, sell high.

Everywhere I have read about PAS the results are expected to be good.

Teather & Greenwood put out a Strong Buy note recently after the company said this:

PROACTIVE SPORTS GROUP PLC

Trading Update

Proactive Sports Group PLC ("Proactive" or the "Group"), a leading sports
management and marketing agency, is pleased to provide an update with regards
to the group's recent trading performance and prospects.

The Professional Football division has benefited from the international
network of offices and football agents that the Group has established.
Proactive now has twelve FIFA licensed agents based in offices in eight
countries, covering four continents, representing 238 players.

As a result of the Group's international presence and strategy, the division
has completed 55 transfers and contract negotiations since flotation of which
17 have taken place in the current financial year including: Claudia Reyna
from Glasgow Rangers to Sunderland, Andrew Cole from Manchester United to
Blackburn, Dellas from Peruggia to Roma and Kim Christensen from Lyngby to
Hamburg. These transactions demonstrate Proactive's ability within the market
place and the increasing international nature of the business. Furthermore, a
number of the high profile signings have been completed in the UK in a month
that is traditionally quiet.

The Sports Marketing division continues to perform ahead of target and has
benefited from its newly acquired PLC status. Future prospects remain
excellent and it is intended that the division will shortly expand into
Europe.

The Board continues to view the future with confidence and remains optimistic
about the opportunities which exist in the sector.

Paul Stretford, Chief Executive, commented:

"This performance demonstrates the success of our strategy and the strength of
our unique business model. The prospects for the Group remain positive and
the Board continues to review opportunities to further expand and enhance the
business."

Getting anxious. Starting to get doubts because of recent price fall. Need reassuring. Anyone have any useful info? Reading good reports - can't understand why people are selling more than buying if 25th April results look promising. Cheers

Neil Rodford.

I asked him about PAS's exposure to the Carlon/Granada/ITV Digital Saga.

He said that they only have a small number of players in the First Division and the bulk of these are in Man City, (and either Wolves/WBA, I can't remember which he said now) who will be going up into the Premiership by the looks.

50% of their earnings also come from abroard.

He says that they don't expect PAS to be adversely affected no more than any other management business and believes that their international exposure meant that they were in a stronger position.

He also said that the bulk of their money in the UK comes from the Premiership players which command much higher transfer fees and sponsorship deals.

He did say the one downer was that the first division was a breeding ground for younger playes and the ITV/Digital problems wan't good for that, but he didn't seem too concerened and said they will make a statement with the results.

To the plus side, I would imagine if the bulk of their First division players are in Man City and one of the other two promoted clubs, then a lot of their players are going to command bigger transfer fees and sponsorship deals, but that's my thinking and not his words.

Looking forward to the results aroud April 25th.
