Don't hold....(not into footy)

This may have been mentioned here ealier (soz can't be bothered going through all the posts) just heard the local radio banging on about Mr Robson holding a 100k of these and some other character (May Be Freddy) from NUFC holding also.

Some journo's questioned him, but Robson refused to be drawn.

Cheers CR, much appreciated.

Yes I'm tempted, but will wait for a while before jumping in, however, should the company perform this price seems good value for a 2/3 yr investment!

Bloody markets are, as you say, making us all nervous...and chicken!

Thanks again

One other thing - the spread. The widest is 2p, the narrowest 0.5p.

If you get caught with the spread at 2p at this level that's over 20% on a 9p offer.

When the stock was at 30p, 2p spread maximum was around 7%.

The wide spread doesn't entice investors into a risky stock in my opinion.

Hi JonnyAD, yes, I still frequent this board on occasions.

The statement today was an attempt to stem the fall and right that they should put out a statement.

I think what has to be borne in mind is that this isn't the only Sports Management company to have its price hit. Sports Entertainment and Media have been walloped too. Kingsbridge announced a profit warniing today and said their sportd division was 'largely unaffected' - that sounds like it is affected a bit.

PAS have said they expect to meet market expectations. If they do this they are on a PE below 5. This sounds cheap.

My worry would be over several points.

a) is this a general downrating of the sector - there are a lot competing with each other and PE's are falling across the whole equity market.

b) the tales about managers feathering their nests by buying players managed by PAS who they have shares in dose not add to the quality of the company or city appeal.

c) we won't know how these results look until the final results. If the results are good the problem there will be that buyers then have to look forward to interims that are grossly weighted to H2, so again there will be nervousness towards the interims.

d) the company doesn't get any more open about the players it manages so this is a disincentive to many still.

e) the whole knock on from ITV Digital is still swilling around and there has been a lack of transfer news recently which surprises me - I'd expected to hear of more closed season transfers especially after the World Cup, but perhaps these trasfer deals are not showing because of the World Cup delaying them and we may hear more.

For me, PAS now offers greater value at greater risk. I personally won't be buying simply because I feel investors have become very risk aware and are looking for safe steady earnings rather than speculative big gains.

Might get a boost if the previous press tipsters re-tip the stock to save their bacon but I think those sitting on loses might want to jump out on any peaks.

I think you can estimate investors feelings by the reaction to the statement today. While PAS do offer value I just feel that a lot of investors don't want the risk in this market, especially after the disappointment of the interims.

LONDON (AFX) - Proactive Sports Group PLC said it knows no reason for its
recent share price fall, adding there has been no decline in its trading
activity and it is confident it will meet market expectations for the year
ending August 31.

Paul Stretford was on Talk Sport this week, he said he had signed up one of the South Korean players.
So expect him to be in Britain by the start of the season.

Some strange trades today Patel, will look out for yours tomorrow.
If you could pick up 250,000 that should help the price.

$12m Player Transfer

Proactive Sports Group PLC ("Proactive" or the "Group"), a leading sports
management and marketing agency, is pleased to announce that its professional
football division has completed the transfer of Hugo Viana from Sporting Lisbon
to Newcastle United Football Club. The US$12 million fee is a UK record for a
teenager.

Hugo joins an elite young player stable within the Football Representation
business, which includes Jermaine Jenas - Newcastle United FC, Sean Davis -
Fulham FC, Roque Santa Cruz - Bayern Munich, Mikkel Bischoff - Manchester City
FC and Rafael van de Vaart - Ajax.

Freddy Shepherd, Chairman of Newcastle United Plc, commented:

"By general consensus of opinion he is the best young player in the world. He
is just the player we want to spearhead our Champions League bid."

Paul Stretford, Chief Executive, commented:

"This is another example of Proactive's commitment to identifying and nurturing
young talent throughout the world via our global network. Hugo Viana is
recognised as one of the outstanding young talents in world football today,
having represented Portugal at the recent U21 International Tournament and also
at this year's World Cup finals."

This is the 5th time that Proactive have broken transfer records; Andy Cole from
Newcastle United FC to Manchester United FC, Stan Collymore from Nottingham
Forest to Liverpool FC, Jermaine Jenas from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle
United FC and Roque Santa Cruz, the Paraguayan World Cup star to Bayern Munich.

One young player on PAS books is 17 year old Ross Gardener at Newcastle utd.

This looks a good policy to me, invest in players with the potential to create earnings for 15 years plus.
