?

Not as far as I can see

SP just pulled down from 70.5p to 69p and now looks as though they want to peg it there for the day

Supportive too...Goldman Sachs has upped its oil price outlook for the second quarter of 2017 to $57.50 a barrel from $55 a barrel for U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude. It also raised its price forecast for international benchmark Brent crude to $59 a barrel from $56.50 a barrel.

Bulls can buy with more confidence now as chart technicals are being observed well, 67p support held well, I bought there, and now the path is clear for another crack at breaking the long term resistance level of 77p this may go before year end if oil is well supported.

hello Crystball, I have been near getting locked in a few shares, but sold out even at large losses in case they went down further. It is not a good situation to be locked in. I lost over 20k on PMO when it dropped a good few weeks ago, but sold out and came in further down the line and made some of that up.
My break even now is 83 to 84p, last week it was near then dropped back, so disappointing.
I can see this slowly getting to 60 dollars but think some OPEC members will not keep to their side of the bargain and distrust will happen, where oil may drop back. Greed will get the better of some, but all agreeing now, as they know when they yes, oil goes up.
We will soon know, but this share has been a nightmare for me, so hope it comes good for all of us.
Lets hope this refinance is sorted so at least we know the real value of PMO in the present brent oil price, as at the moment, all guesses as to what it is really worth.
Good luck , I am sure you will recover your losses, what is your break even price.
I am hoping this will go to between 1.00 and 1.30 if all positives come good.
Hope the refinance news comes out before xmas, then we can at least all put our minds to rest.
I have a large amount held in here myself, so the slightest drop or gain can make a big difference and many sleepless nights.
good luck all.

Fitton, I agree with you,, I just do not get it either. I noticed that 2 companies had shorted this morning, one had cut back their shorts just the other day.
Are they hedging something else at the same time, to cover their loosses i.e. hedging oil higher but PMO lower at the same time, I am not sure.
I also wonder if like what you have seen this morning, the share shoots up to 71.25 from 68.75, then seems to drop back 2 or 5% later (sometimes within 10 minutes) that it is the shorters somehow creating this, therefore making a quick 2% every day and sometimes a few times a day.
If that is the case, then they are covering any losses in the shorts by the continuous % they make every day, trading.
They will not be losing much money by the time they have managed their portfolios. I am just amazed in the time I have been trading, that they can put so much influence in the market, I am not sure how they can influence so much but they do.
They can cause private individuals to lose many thousands, by the way they trade, they have a place but I dont like all this shorting business. If everyone bet on something going up, then that is fair game, but we are lambs to the slaughter sometimes with the big boys.
just my opinion but like you interested why they would increase shorts if we are all hoping for good news. especially as oil looks to be steady up from here.
AS I SPEAK PMO DROPPED FROM 71.25 TO 69.75, YOU CANNOT TELL ME THIS IS NATURAL AND NOT FROM DARK FORCES !

I am very much under water with PMO shares having been caught with my pants down by the collapse in the oil price a couple of years ago. Not many saw it coming? Who knows what will happen to the oil price in the next year? As far as I am concerned the big players such as Saudi Arabia and Russia really need a higher oil price, so the promised cuts to production hopefully will happen and a higher oil price will result and be maintained (but not too high!). That's what I am betting on. It is a gamble any form of share trading and we all need to be patient, ultimately being prepared to lose the lot if any company you invest in goes bust or has serious problems. A diversified portfolio is what every investor needs. I don't understand shorting either and wouldn't advise anyone to get involved. Tony Durrant I think comes across well in any presentations I have seen or when questioned live and gives me confidence. I think he is a shrewd man. I'd like to wish all PMO investors a happy Christmas and a healthy new year!

Well I have been dealing in shares for many years and one thing I simply don't get with PMO is the short sellers. There are a number of conclusions I have come to.They are as follows, either I have a complete misunderstanding of short selling and am completly missing something or the shorters are using the funds from sold stock against other investments which makes what they are doing way more complex than the average investor can understand. Finally they genuinly have a belief or information to justify a short position.I can totally understand shorting at 70p if they have information about the delayed refinancing as happened back in November, but I don't understand why on the 12th two of the companies increased there short, maybe another delay on the refinancing?Surley being logical, with most of the bad news out the way, oil prices fairly stable and refinancing news closer than not now is not the time to be increasing the short positions. If there are any real experts out there than would like to spend a few minutes giving an expert opinion on the subject I would be very grateful. My final thought is that maybe they have just got it wrong who knows.

This one is a corker lol:

You gave me a great answer in Vienna about cheating. I very blatantly asked you, “what about the cheating?” People don’t trust the levels historically set by OPEC. You said to me this time it’s different. I wonder if you could just share that because I think one of the big concerns people have would be about adherence to this deal, but you think its different this time.

I think it’s different because in the past you tended to force countries towards a coalition or towards a resolution. This time there’s a major consensus. Everybody’s hurting. Everybody has realised that it needs to be done for most of OPEC and indeed for non-OPEC economies to survive. There hasn’t been too much of beating people into line, it’s been more of a consensual build up. Secondly, there’s a group that has been set up to monitor this. Both the Opec and Non-Opec countries understand that both sides will have to keep to the deal otherwise, it will falter. I think the urgency of now, and the criticality of the economies that they have to protect is enough of an incentive for everyone to be in line this time.

You might have a point there NYB, about presents etc. I hate it when the market goes so quiet.

But I was adding to my PMO again today. Also ENQ.

Comfortably in my seat, you can blow the whistle if you like, too bad if the others miss the train this time.

Yes, this one has been observing chart technical support/resistance lines, if only the bulls were..well bullish! They need to step up to the plate and stop being timid & shy, like a spotty teen at a prom.

Since schroders increase share position seems to be steady holding, even though oil has tanked down from 54.42 in last hour to 53.16. still a good sign, maybe something on the horizon, i mean we deserve some good news soon.
keep fingers crossed, someone knows something we don't, (even though they shouldn't)
Lets hope we may be turning a corner soon and see some blue days.
Anyone know why oil has just dropped , cannot see any news, anywhere, but hopefully will get back up later.
I will be watching for any updates with renewed confidence. Good luck all, hope xmas comes early !
