11/1/2018 21:08 | rationaleee re 34610 My earlier post with hypothetical numerical example suggested that as share price increases the arbing shorters would increase their short to lock in more upside. Increasing share price whilst unconverted means more shorts from the arbers. I thought if and when they decide to convert, they then sell newly acquired shares and close short at same time. Locking in their upside. If investment policies meant they couldn't convert am sure there should be a buyer willing to pay (maybe slightly below) mkt price of the equities they would be able to convert to. Not sure the arbing hedge funds are friends or enemies, probably need Begorrah to explain that one, not clear to me. Hopefully he'll clarify how it works. | prewar
11/1/2018 21:00 | Debt for equity tends to be detrimental to shareholders but pmo provide an example of a positive outcome for regular shareholders :-) TD deserves a sainthood not criticism | leoneobull
11/1/2018 20:46 | Well Ladies and Gents This is a new one for me and I assume most here, however you could call it a pseudo rights issue? | gunsofmarscapone

11/1/2018 20:39 | I did say it would be worth an equity raise for this scenario but utilisation of asset sale even better! I can finally leave IR alone! | bakedbean57
11/1/2018 20:39 | A swing of 10% both ways today, someone made a killing. | frontdoor bull
11/1/2018 20:36 | Maybe TD reads begorrah's posts?! | leoneobull
11/1/2018 20:19 | Did people notice how the share price has been increasing ever since the first conversion RNS? Convertible debt went from $245mn to $235mn today over that conversion period. Could it be our enemies, the arbitraging hedge funds becaome our friends and want to get more out of their converted shares? Or could it be they would just sell the bond and close the short positions at a loss/open market as i'd imagine there would be some bondholders who wont be allowed, by the virture of their investment policies, to convert into equity? Close to 50mn volume in the past 2 days says something as well. If there is a dip, load up! after this there would be no shackles that will artificially keep the share price down. This is the last chance for all of us to load up, as long as oil price holds up/ | rationaleee
11/1/2018 19:40 | Does that mean the shackles are coming of? | asa8
11/1/2018 19:37 | Thanks Bb, was this share price tinkering all pre re-finance being agreed end of July 17? | prewar
11/1/2018 19:34 | SP price lower = greater number of warrants for CBH when calc dates used etc If you know you can get x stock at x price and you can make a few quid both ways with a bit of stock borrowing and then swapping then they bloody well will. And via constant barrage of SETs v DMA it would be possible to 'range' the share price but not legal for a PI to do that's manipulation... | bakedbean57
11/1/2018 19:29 | In simple terms debt stakeholders were allowed the chance to short the company to gain a favourable warrant and in tow followed a load more people on the shorting bandwagon thus suppressed the share price in their favour via. a 'technical structure'. The swap process for stock out on loan against warrant conversation can now happen in a more orderly manner... Benefits all parties I guess. Some of stock on loan will just be a hedge against oil but fair to say with the volume we had out wasn't just that by the Arbitrage sir! | bakedbean57
11/1/2018 19:25 | Begorrah I'm genuinely interested how it works. I tried explaining how I thought a arber would operate with a hypothetical numerical example but I don't know. If you could critique my guess that would help. | prewar
11/1/2018 19:19 | Stop wasting time and space prewar | begorrah88
11/1/2018 19:16 | Hey begorrah, can you explain how the shorting has negatively impacted the share price please. Could you keep it real simple so we can all understand it. Yesterday didn't you post reported increased shorts from the arbers? Hasn't the share price gone up in the same time? Struggling to understand this so your help would be appreciated. Tia | prewar
11/1/2018 19:05 | Exactly what was needed ! | bakedbean57
11/1/2018 19:03 | Hopefully this action by PMO will now close the argument about whether the hedgies shorting activity is deemed to have negatively impacted on the share price You're welcome! | begorrah88

11/1/2018 18:38 | Will this remove the opportunity for CB arbitrage? I'm sure you can long a CB while shorting the stock? Remove the CB's and you remove this route for shorting...not sure though as i'm an ignorant tit we could see a short squeeze here if that is correct though I don't possess that level of understanding | gersemi |
