China has over 3000 coal fired power stations, and while expanding wind, is still building more. The US has 217 coal fired ones. India is adding more as the expanding economy is demanding more and more power.
Electricity is too expensive in Europe. I know, let's get everything made in China or India where power is cheap and health and safety is virtually extinct.
I agree with a big move to green energy but we are such hypocrites because we are polluting every time we buy our goods from China.

Sorry my post sounds bad in that I may not care about emissions. It is my view that gas is necessary for the transition in Ireland. If that is true, and we know it is as it will help replace oil and coal, indigenous gas can be produced at a tiny fraction of the scope 1 emissions currently being incurred on current imports from the North Sea. North Sea gas have scope 1 emissions of cc 20+kgs per boe. Kistos produce Dutch gas at 0.09 kg per boe a huge huge saving so I am massively in support of indigenous gas for this reason. Sadly Equinor ( the green experts) sold out of Corrib citing problems with approvals. That was a holy disgrace and the Green Party are responsible for that and every dirty kg on the North Sea imports. Bwtfdik. The greens should know that but they don't. |
 Real possibility of selling Morocco after MOU5 drilled and tested. That is what the LSE board is referring to. They have been talking about a corporate event in Morocco for some time now. PG can retire and work on Ireland and Trinidad .
In Ireland I would be surprised if PRD have not been approached by Fortress who have been let down badly by Minister Ryan on their onshore Shannon LNG terminal. I do note the High Court have allowed Fortress to challenge the planning refusal at Shannon and quite rightly too as Fortress promised no fracked gas and it was refused because the gas was to be fracked!
Will be an election in Eire probably in the next 12 months and should Sinn Fein reach government ( the others have to unite against them in a very strange coalition with the Greens to keep them out as indeed they had the most votes) they may well reopen Kinsale where PRD have a huge discovery (1TCF or so). I can tell you that other policies of Sinn Fein make me think they may be a credible government in the next election.
Put it this way any government without the Greens would be good for PRD. |
