Following Poundland's interim results, we explore three ways the discounter is developing its offer to win in the UK and beyond.

Morning guys, I reckon this was in the market yesterday.

"Poundland Group PLC (LON:PLND) had its price objective cut by equities research analysts at Nomura from 290p to 270p in a research report issued to clients and investors on Wednesday, MarketBeat.Com reports. The brokerage presently has a “neutral”; rating on the stock

Keep calm Phil. Whilst it might take a while share price recovery will occur. 99p Acquisition will bring positive results and if the directors are wise managing the company a good revenue is forecast

Wipo, that's a good idea .... tweet them in real time, not so much difficult as potentially deeply embarrassing!

M9 - this business is about judgment; thankfully there's a single criterion that defines performance that's easily measured. A lot can happen in an hour never mind a week or two. Would be more interesting to be privy to specific reasons for opening a trade - FWIW when problem solving with my young son, am far more interested to understand his thinking rather than his conclusions.

This could even collapse today. If £2 doesn't hold then goodness knows where it could open tomorrow (especially if the USA falls later)- £1.40 ?

staverly,

totally agree, however he only undates fortnightly now and I don't blame him.
I'm pleased that he hasn't disappeared altogether.
It gives us a lead into some companies that he's researched, however - timing is everything .

In in the interest of transparency any paid-up member of the stock picking appreciation society who publishes trades, I for one, would be more persuaded if both opening and closing positions were disclosed much closer to execution. Knowing the result before placing your "bet" is an obvious advantage.

Mallorca9 Another poster checked the trades on one of the stocks mentioned and noted no 2k trades that day(he claimed to have sold 2k)but there was a 2k trade just after profits warning ?, coincidence?

Wipo,

Kainos has just put out an excellent set of interims.
Shares have rises from £1.84 in August to £2.50 today.
All NT did was top slice some of his holding to lock in some profit, and he still holds the rest.

Mallorca9 Naked trader updated his site on the day of the plnd profit warning ?, so no evidence to suggest he is not telling porkies. Also gms and kainos sold before warning. Sounds a bit fishy to me. Maybe one he got lucky on but all three?

Well it's not just the miners, supermarkets are also depressing the FTSE 100 this morning.

Tesco is down 2.6%, Morrison Supermarkets is down 2%.

David Buik at Panmure Gordon says there's nothing in particular hitting the shares today, but investors continue to be gloomy about the outlook for the UK's big supermarkets.

"Ferocious" marketing campaings from discounters Aldi and Lidl mean that it's likely to be a thin Christmas for them, say David.
