Wow wasn't expecting such a large jump in SP, as has been mentioned today's update is not really a surprise the way markets have moved this year, especially US and Tech...

Blimey. It seems that with Lio and Polr one is well placed to capture the best of the market, while reaping a supersized dividend.

Find it bizarre that an AuM update where most of the data is visible several days prior boosts the share price this much.

Institutions and analysts really aren’t paying much attention to small cap share prices at this point.

Well at current shareprice of 499p it's still yielding an incredible 9.2%. Long-term hold for me.

"AUM and forecasts up, stellar returns, positive flows"

AUM jumped £2.3bn (+12%) over Q4 of FY24 to £21.9bn on 31 Mar 24, which is 12% above our previous forecast of £19.5bn, and +14% y-o-y growth (AUM 31 Mar 23: £19.2bn). In turn, our FY24 revenue forecast increases from £188.4m to £191.6m (+5% y-o-y, FY23: £182.9m).

PBT rose from £50.1m to £52.1m (+15% y-o-y, FY23: £45.2m) and basic EPS from 38.3p to 39.8p (+8% y-o-y, FY23: 36.8p). The EPS revision translates to a forward PER of just 11.5x

Investment performance was the booster for AUM in Q4, adding +£2.3bn or +12%, but for us probably most pleasing update was a return to positive, albeit modest, net flows in the quarter of +£56m. Moreover, Polar reported strong net flows in March (+£228m).

For the sector, there are signs of an improving outlook for UK and European equity and active management fund flows. For Polar Capital we think that its PER has clear potential for a re-rating and our fundamental valuation increases to 650p/share (42% above the current share price).

Very strong quarter - as well as strong market movements, flows have returned to positive territory and they say momentum has continued in April.

"With interest rates having potentially peaked, global equity markets continued to rise during the quarter and as a result total AuM in the quarter increased by £2.3bn from £19.6bn to £21.9bn, a 12% increase."

Yes similar pattern with most of the other funds - AUM tracking market movements suggesting flattish flows - this is a good turnaround and suggests we should see a good rise in the AUM at next udpate. I'd say we're close to the point where inflows resume and then we should really push higher.

Good spot - the biggest fund (global technology) is now 5.3bn (end Mar) compared to 5.1 bn at end of Feb. This is roughly in line with market movements which suggests outflows have stopped, but no sign of inflows yet. Not looked at other funds yet.

Does anyone know if there is withholding tax on dividends for this stock for foreign investors. Most companies on LSE have no withholding tax. I assume this stock also has no WH tax. Can anyone confirm. Thanks

Well I'm sure in my own mind that inflows will be significantly up regardless, and only improve as the year goes on, gl

DTH - I doubt US based investors reported probably aren’t going to be investing in Polar funds, unfortunately.
We can live in hope though.

DTH - why are a funds inflow expected? There is no trend to suggest this will happen.

Looks like POLR is breaking out today, with fund inflows likely to have rebounded strongly in Q1 and the fact many are looking to invest in good, well managed profitable companies paying high yielding dividends before this year's ISA deposits close and for the start of the 2024 ISA. A re rate is on the cards here, having lagged the general market rise recently, and could add 10 to 20% quite quickly and likely before this year's ex div date in the summer months. GL all..all in my opinion etc...

Agreed but can see POLR being popular next week and the week after as folk add to this year's ISAs and purchase for next year's, the divi income seekers are going to drive this up considerably in the short term and on the run up to the Q1 update, all looks very good here but be quick if your yet to buy imo...sorry for another post, block me if you dont like it...;-)
