22/11/2012 07:07 | "...knitting seems to be on the return..." Posting on bulletin boards seems to be a very popular pastime too! | nitaroo
22/11/2012 05:55 | Now that's out of the way, I'd expect to see a string of news as to what's been planned over the last few months. Did anyone question about the company name as "Plus Markets Group" doesn't tie up with a Investment company, unless we are keeping it for a reason? I suppose that NWE now is unemployed (or unemployable) she needs to entertain her days, mind you I see knitting seems to be on the return, as due to the slump people need to turn off the C/H and jumpers on the way back. | old thumper
21/11/2012 20:55 | NIT, If you've got nothing worth saying - why say anything at all? You are a waste of the alphabet. Not a good school you attended - clearly. | squirrel888
21/11/2012 20:51 | So my votes did not go to waste. Excellent. H - the "others" must be worried to turn up at a GM that really doesn't concern them? Odd behaviour don't you think. I'm hoping that as we progress forward and as we take on our new entity, more will come out about the shenanigans of the BoD and some employees of the old plus. As long as PMK continues to be listed, then we will always be connected to its past and all that went before and questions continue to be asked. More will come out I am sure of that. Perhaps some of those that thought they've been clever and trusted one another will fall out - once no longer friends - who knows who will be quicker to "grass up" the other. It always happens like that. The City can project the formative years of those that once frequented the playgrounds of the primary, secondary schools and indeed the colleges and unis. Bullies, intimidaters, hangers on, groupies even - you know what I mean. Then there are the quiet ones who just get on with studying and go on and out in to the wider world and do good things. I wonder which ones stole the pocket money from the innocent, which ones ate all the goodies from the tuck shop and which ones will see justice done (there must be prefects). Of course - we all know what happens to bullies in the end. So - on with talk of the future - we have until the Summer Solstice to make an acquisition - how wonderful and magical this could all be. Surely we can speculate a little on our prospects now? | squirrel888
21/11/2012 18:26 | i heard there wasn't much going on. perhaps the most notable thing was bridges, nwe, harrop, turning up with patchay who seemed to be tasked with asking the questions on their behalf. it makes you wonder why they were there? i'm sure not to protect their minimal investments. seems like they were after some kind of reassurance? apparently resolution 1 was put up for discussion and patchay chips in with "how much money is left", which appeared to bemuse the spokesman as much as the rest of the people in the room as it wasn't relevant. all the same it was asked for obvious reasons. people can guess what the real question was. then things seemed to move on as normal. i heard the wash-up was far more revealing (non disclosable) and by the time patchay's getting on the tube at temple at 4.30 the vocal solace in her apple product isn't really sufficient to overcome their angst. as for the others, that's for another day. there must be an easier way of saying "the game's up" that people will understand, alas we're not yet there. in time, one way or another we will be. | harry f
21/11/2012 18:01 | were you there waldof? | harry f

21/11/2012 14:54 | As predicted...nothing but the formalities...the question being did anyone manage to buttonhole someone for a whisper of whet they might be looking at..almost certainly not. Just a cup of weak, luke warm coffee...if that. | waldof
21/11/2012 14:50 | NT, Was the new building nice? | old thumper

21/11/2012 07:51 | "...Tony's female friend..." For all I know and by all appearances, it might have been Otohime-sama. | nitaroo
20/11/2012 19:17 | it is but not the whole story. the accumulated tax losses were £8m+ alone and appear to have not been included in any valuation. i just been wondering when the chardonnay was drunk? personally im moving my expected date 2 months forward, was oct 2009 (plus or minus a month), now august 2009 (plus or minus a month). i don't think i'll be far off the mark. aside from that i wonder if tony's female friend will be asking questions again tomorrow? taroo might be able to help us on this one? | harry f
20/11/2012 19:00 | One other way to look at the Plus takeover is when I look at a new company (to me) I always say if the Mar Cap is below the revenue it's cheap. So for Plus £3,000,000 / £1 it's cheap! so I look further. | old thumper
20/11/2012 18:39 | in the main i agree, as far as im concerned though the value is all in the past. a board of directors can't realistically expect that actions they took can go unchallenged, you'd have to be a big gambler to think so. likewise for forum. as ive said before their only hope was to retain control post agm, when that went there was only one outcome; ct's face told me that on the 29th june. if i remember correctly turquiose wasnt even an rie, was loss making and was sold for £16m (inc £10m goodwill). plus little over 3 years ago had £6m in cash and was losing £8m a year and yet the market valued it at circa £20m at the time (going off the share price). what do we get? not even enough to cover the director payoffs. thats forgetting the 7 figure "sale" fee. now maybe the average pi is slow on the uptake, but when all said and done the facts speak for themselves. everybody appears to have gained at the expense of shareholders, and i count at least 15 firm, clearly provable historical irregularities of substance which go someway to explaining this. what keep on popping into my head is the "perjury" aspect. there is more to this story than is currently publically disclosed, and when the ultimate questions are asked the people answering them need to do so with honesty for the benefit of themselves and those around them. bruce is probably so experienced he can see it from a mile away, chapman like myself is probably slower on the uptake but has seen the evolution to where we are today. he probably does know a lot, i do; but i have worked out a lot myself and he's no doubt the same. and then you have to consider what the new directors have seen internally. globally i see the current share price as a great opportunity, one which would have not arisen if the board had acted in the interests of shareholders. whilst temporarily this may be very painful, i hope our day in the sun will arrive soon. however as i said many hundreds of posts ago, im not making the decisions. | harry f
20/11/2012 18:03 | Squirrel, As Harry said Yes Plus has a future and hopefully tomorrow we'll know a bit more about it. Don't forget Bruce wouldn't throw good (35m shares) after bad without a good reason, Spencer wouldn't waste his time going to meetings without a reason and I'd be amazed that Simon Chapman didn't know something. One thing is I wonder if there's a value on the name Plus? | old thumper
20/11/2012 17:44 | I've justed listened to Capt Pasty on R4 (at the time of the bid) praising the company.(A Takeover) And just before in the news he was talking out of his friendship with Andy Coulson (A Friend) And the UBS trader has been banged up for 7 years (The City) Plus brings them all three together! How's That!! | old thumper

20/11/2012 16:43 | "upside down" seems as good a description as any. embellishment seemed to be the order of the day for them. i think whatever picture is painted at the time either good or bad, when the dust settles and it's all analysed very much the same conclusion is established because it's derived mainly from facts. with pmk it will be no different. squirrel - yes | harry f
20/11/2012 16:24 | One question everyone, Does PMK have a future? | squirrel888 |
