10/5/2024 22:05 | I note we've hit on next weekend. No doubt will bump into MG1 on the sprint triathlon or 100km Cycle Sportive | elpirata
10/5/2024 20:29 | hehe - you can blame monte1 on that one for complaining that those who didnt shop around got ripped off... | michaelg1
10/5/2024 20:15 | #9202 is that the one that tilts the renewal premium up by a default 50% | elpirata
10/5/2024 20:10 | Calf’s liver for me, one of my favourites and just as Jeffian describes. Mrs E Snr occasionally serves us lambs liver with onions, which I can confirm is both leathery and grainy. She has never knowingly undercooked anything, which is fine for the stews and braised dishes she is brilliant at, but limp waterlogged asparagus and cauliflower are much less of a draw. | barry evans
10/5/2024 17:56 | I loikes the CONCATENATE function in Excel. | michaelg1
10/5/2024 17:36 | Aye, I noted I got a name-check in that post, though not for the word which, even as a notorious pedant, is not one that has ever slipped from my lips. | jeffian
10/5/2024 17:33 | a concatenation of pistings which has finally led to the #9200 | elpirata
10/5/2024 17:33 | concatenation /kənˌkat noun a series of interconnected things. "a concatenation of events which had finally led to the murder" the action of linking things together in a series, or the condition of being linked in such a way. "the concatenation of lists" | elpirata
10/5/2024 17:33 | #9195, It is most likely to be lamb when cooked with onions and gravy, A333, though care needs to be taken as it can get a bit 'leathery' if overcooked. Pig is regarded as inferior in both taste and texture. I love calf's liver mes'en, with crispy bacon and I like crisped sage leaves. *smacks lips*. | jeffian
10/5/2024 17:11 | I note the avatar lindowcross has just writ 'a concatenation of events' & the esteemed pub LL of course gets a mention too | elpirata
10/5/2024 17:10 | I'm almost certain (I will double check with Cook) that it is Lamb. Thanks for the very detailed and interesting responses. | avatar333
10/5/2024 17:03 | #9167 et seq, I'm very partial to a bit of liver mes'en. What type do you favour with onions, A333? Lamb, pig or calf? As to the rest - * ate a lot of game on the farm and trout/salmon in the days you were allowed to keep it not 'catch & release' (what's the point) * we weren't in the Caviar bracket and not particularly taken by it now, though we do use those little jars of fish eggs sometimes to make a fish dish a bit more fancy * not goat's milk but I did once have milk fresh from the cow when I injured myself on another farm and was laid up. It was a bit like drinking warm cream. * (senior) school food was ok. We ate in "house" (we lived in separate houses of about 50) and our cook was ok. In my last term (I was 18!) we had a rather comely lass cooking and on the last day of term she rushed up, kissed me and gave me a box of chocolates, which shows you how 'on the ball' I was* about these things. There, I think that about covers the lot. *wasn't | jeffian
10/5/2024 16:57 | Excellent, Barry. Indeed, Dom. | avatar333
10/5/2024 16:45 | #9167 You didn't 'say' AVATAR333 but can I assume that the dinner described inherently includes some sort of gravy? | dominiccummings
