10/3/2004 16:33 | No offence, but i'd like to see the price go down so I can buy a few. I think there's some real value in Pittards. | arthur_lame_stocks
10/3/2004 16:04 | The results due tomorrow are expected to be poor. Hope it does not impact too badly on the share price!!! | danny murphy
11/2/2004 20:04 | Now I'm in at last 25k @ 57p. It better start flying now!!!! | danny murphy
13/1/2004 21:37 | I have been trying to buy into this share for a couple of days without success. Maybe I'll be lucky tomorrow. | danny murphy
23/9/2003 16:33 | No - but it looks as if they won't pay more than 72p ish. The shares appear to be bouncing back off this resistance yet again today | hosede
23/9/2003 10:00 | A bit of a run up in the last few days Anyone know who is buying ? | pcuser
04/9/2003 13:45 | ON these results I don't think it will make the break through at least not for a while | hosede
13/8/2003 00:48 | Is approaching its three year high of about 72p, but there is quite a lot of resistance around and just below that level. An establishedl break thru 72 and it could go an awful lot higher | hosede
12/8/2003 18:17 | For whatever reason, price is slowly but consistently being bid up and chart looks very positive. Breakout soon. | philjeans
09/7/2003 21:54 | Phil I have to confess I have sold my 4k in two lots. The second half today to reinvest in Brit Ins after purchases of £2.9m + by directors. Thats a lot of money by any measure. If PTD drift back, I will buy back in if my piggy bank has any cash in it! | azalea
08/7/2003 21:39 | After a very quiet spell, it's on the move again with a rise of 9p in two days! Something in thw wind I suspect now that the offshore investor has his full 29.9%! A lot further to go if there's a bid! | philjeans
08/7/2003 19:59 | Based on the relatively low volume and 'buys' the upward movement of the share price is almost a surprise and can only be attributed to the MM marking them up for reasons best known to themselves. There was a purchase of 15000 timed at 18:02hrs today - ostensibly after the mkt closed. Whether such a purchase could be made 'in hours' and listed later, I would not know. That said the share price has risen from 52.5 to 64p over several days so there must be more to it than that, I would have thought! It will be interesting to see where they stand on Friday! | azalea
08/5/2003 20:08 | Interesting to see the 7% rise so far this week (+2p today)with very modest buying overall and 2x25,000 sales today! Not to mention the Div in hand. Hmmn! | azalea
19/4/2003 18:07 | The falure by 'analysts' to mention very large shareholders (29%+ in this case) is in my experience a common occurrence, either they have not done their homework properly, or, do not want to seen as pushing too hard. I choose the former, as such a sizeable stake should present a significant tell tale signature to any analyst/tipster/pund Equally in my experience, time and time again companies with such holders end up under a bid. Bullough, Coats and Darby Grp are three of the latest to do so. PTD will (IMHO) be no exception, its simply a question of sitting it out and collect the div in the meantime. | azalea
19/4/2003 17:31 | The main article today in The Dail Mail's Investment Extra; well written and balanced piece about strength of the brand and fantastic turnaround since the foot and mouth epidemic wrecked their profits two years ago. Mentions that surplus land sales should bring in around £3M (to help repair pension fund deficit, of course, like everyone else's) but points out good running yield and strong profits trend. Surprisingly, didn't mention the offshore investors' 30% max stake! | philjeans
30/3/2003 20:35 | Esp when you take into account that land was last revalued in 1990, as far as I can see from the accounts. Suggests NAV is understated and co is trading at an even larger discount than per books. All well and good, but meaningless (in light of indifferent trading performance) unless someone actually decides to take a punt.... | extrader
30/3/2003 20:09 | That sounds like confidence to me - they know more than most of us! | philjeans
29/3/2003 19:11 | I see the Employee Share Ownership Trust bought 98,789 @ 52p on 28/3; taking its stake to 4.84%. | azalea
06/3/2003 18:44 | The results are good if not excellent. However, the 90p NAV vis a vis Grainton Ltd's 29.6% stake, is what its all about; with such a commitment its hard not to anticipate a bid. | azalea
06/3/2003 10:57 | Thanks & look forward to your notes. | clocktower
06/3/2003 10:38 | I did some research on this for some venture capitalists a couple of years ago...Fundamentally a decent company, but dogged by low margins and the foot&mouth crisis. I also noted the pension liabilities which pretty much swung us in favour of not investing, but today's results are impressive. There is potential for PTD to be taken out...I haven#t looked for ages, but I know that a Mr Jaegger (channel islands I believe) was busily heading toward the 29.9% level. I'll post the list of potential bidders we came up with when I have my notes in front of me. I don't hold. | indalo
06/3/2003 10:33 | Results today. Comments from the informed on PTD please. | clocktower
13/1/2003 21:22 | Interesting to see that purchases of just over a mere 10k, has moved the price up 2p a share. Also, that the spread has narrowed again to 52p-55p. Moreover, there was no selling today, the first for some time! Is this the tide turning as we run up to the results? | azalea |
