25/10/2013 08:27 | Hi sailing john, great to see your here and Vipera! Targeting 20 million plus market cap or 5p per share. Share consolidation will help greatly so no buying odd numbers. | battlebus2
25/10/2013 08:23 | BB2 We appear to invest in very similar stocks - I hold these and Vipera (And Spectrum from a few years back!) GL - SJ | sailing john
25/10/2013 08:19 | BrianGeese thank you for the link, i've been watching these from the rejected offer and decided to buy my first lot this morning. Quite hard to get in any size. GLA DYOR ETC.... | battlebus2
25/10/2013 08:09 | Meanwhile director buying takes centre stage.Get 'em while they're cheap! | addict
25/10/2013 08:08 | It's a very good piece. Rather encouraging in my view.Lets hope Pittards can become a mini Burberry,Haha | meijiman
25/10/2013 08:02 | This company operates like one from 20 years ago.no attempt to engage or communicate?Rather sad. | meijiman
25/10/2013 07:44 | BrianGeeee-thanks for that...but why does it take a BB post to enlighten shareholders. This company's shareholder communication is pathetic. This could, and should have been posted on the web site.Maybe it will...we live in hope. | addict
24/10/2013 22:10 | When we see the next set of results I expect to see strong buy statements issued. I have a target of 6p | lady liz
24/10/2013 13:59 | Pittards Ethiopia on the BBC | briangeeee
15/10/2013 12:14 | Indeed. Part of the problem may be carrying too much stock linked to events in Ethiopia. I've seen this a few times where companies are concerned about customer service(rightly) and so carry alot of stock to avoid any supply issues. I'm hoping for better times ahead and a higher share price If management can run with the ball then fine -but equally I'm sure other parties have seen lots of hidden value in this company.A divi would be nice and should be payable -maybe modest but progressive? | meijiman
15/10/2013 10:15 | Sort out the balance sheet and we can have the anticipated dividend out of the cash realised from stock and debtors.Shamefully poor current asset management here | addict
15/10/2013 09:02 | Countyman5 -you are clearly over 75 or possibly even older,Axminster is very good carpet but doesn't seem to be bt much these days. Yes addict you are right... I don't think the status quo is an option here. Its difficult though to see how it will pan out. I'm not impressed with the management -at least judging by the numbers and the lack of news between formal RNS announcements. They seem to do the bare minimum. FD needs to get a grip on the finances as well. Management has at least shown some commitment by buying -but if you think the shares are underplaying the situation -get out and sell the story. | meijiman
15/10/2013 08:09 | More director buying and recent rejection of an unsolicited bid.Only a matter of time before this gets taken out.Could be an Mbo If the management can muster the energy...which seems unlikely.dyor | addict
12/10/2013 21:26 | Bought an Axminster carpet today. Superb quality and value. | countryman5
05/10/2013 21:56 | Question is will the bidder make another higher offer shortly? Will there be a consolidation of the stock,to wipe out small holders giving major holders the chance to control the situation even further? Still a buy IMO but DYOR. | lady liz
05/10/2013 15:39 | Hi Mr Chairman I see that Baner is singing your praises on SWL board | countryman5
30/9/2013 11:59 | Agree with most of this. Management has failed by being inactive-why do the bare minimum ie 2 releases p.a when you have many opportunities to update -does nothing ever happen at Pittards?! The broker WHI has failed by not marketing the company properly-if I was ceo of a company worth 5p or maybe even 10p down the track and the shares traded at 2p then I would be very annoyed. Im happy to wait on events as my entry point is well under 5p. | meijiman
30/9/2013 11:44 | Our key learning point must be that the management are not in a hurry to start paying dividends because their team are not in control of the cash flow. They also seem indifferent to the employee shareholders and others who deserve a divi now. | ben gunn
30/9/2013 10:32 | Disgruntled and disaffected shareholders should write to the management.Maybe then they'd get the point. If the offer values the company at far less than its worth, what the hell have W H Ireland been doing all this time? | wantage
30/9/2013 09:48 | I guess that's why they've received an 'unsolicited bid'.An opportunistic bid timed ahead of the company's aim to make dividend payment(s).There has been some good work transferring part of the business to low cost manufacturing, but the financial management has been well below par.Heads should roll here,or the current incumbants should re-energise and address fundamental issues.I do believe the business has great potential for the right management team to unlock. All IMO | addict
30/9/2013 09:48 | Interesting news Friday...pretty muted reaction to share price and hardly a murmur on this board....... Very strange....agree with meijiman that smaller shareholders need / deserve more information from the company both generally and specifically on this rejected bid. | jaf111 |
