31/3/2014 16:00 | h2owater 31 Mar'14 - 08:57 - 2284 of 2291 0 0 £17m wind farm float in the air A small British engineering company is set to raise £2m in a London float that will be used to finance three new wind farms in Chile. Rame Energy sells solar panels, wind turbines and diesel generators to industrial companies around the world. The listing, xcap 31 Mar'14 - 09:32 - 2285 of 2291 0 0 thanks h20water, and dcod for bringing it to the bb so we get national coverage so outspan Div.... that's about a $28 mcap Yes, or at least on the face of it, insofar as we can believe that The Times actually has new information here and isn't just extrapolating from the various announcements in similar fashion to all the other articles so far on this subject e.g. we know Rame have announced their intention to list on 4 Apr and we know PIRI's RNS gave details of a fundraising taking place in parallel with the CLN facility at a value of US$27m (which is remarkably close to the £17m in the headline) and also of a pre-IPO funding of not less than $3.2m (which more or less equals the £2m they talk about). I'm still thinking we won't know the full situation until Friday when we finally get sight of the Admission Document and how well Rame is received by the market in it's first dealings - I would guess very well! More info/clarity from PIRI would help too as to how this $33.33m Equity Value discount thing might work: as to how they intend to play this stake and others like it; as to when they intend to hold their overdue AGM; as to when they intend to publish the prelims, which must be 30 Apr latest. As things stand, not even a separate squeak concerning Rame's impending listing - come on PIRI, could do better! | outspan

31/3/2014 14:35 | Interesting snippet on the BBC news today and perhaps one Rame will be picking up on in the months ahead?.........GL S Link... "Two wind farm projects off the coasts of north Wales and Yorkshire have received more than £460m in investment." The Green Investment Bank is buying a 10% stake in Gwynt y Mor near Llandudno in Conwy and a 50% stake in Westermost Rough five miles offshore from Hull. Gwynt y Mor is the largest of its kind under construction in Europe and will generate power for 400,000 homes. Westernmost Rough will use 35 turbines which are almost double the size of most currently operating in the UK. Construction on the site has just begun, while the 160-turbine Gwynt y Mor is due to be completed later in 2014. Shaun Kingsbury, chief executive of the Green Investment Bank, said: "The UK has ambitious plans to build on its position as a world leader in offshore wind. "We have two roles to play in supporting those plans: firstly, to directly invest to help developers recycle their capital into the next wave of new renewable energy projects; secondly, to invest on fully commercial terms to create a demonstration effect which others will follow." Business Secretary Vince Cable said: "The Green Investment Bank is playing a game-changing role in financing our transition to a green economy. "The bank has now invested well over £600m in five offshore wind farms and mobilised £1.3bn of total funding. This industry has the potential to generate thousands of new skilled jobs and billions in business investment." Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Davey, said: "The UK is number one in the world for investment in offshore wind. "This news is proof of the strength of investment in British energy infrastructure - and proof that the Government's strategy is working - supporting green jobs across the country and delivering secure energy supplies for the future. "£34bn worth of investment has been announced since 2010 thanks to our electricity market reforms which give investors long-term certainty." | swizz

31/3/2014 11:31 | Pires profits from Rame float Published by sparklehorse on 21 Mar 2014 at 17:56 The proposed AIM flotation of Rame Energy is good news for small, AIM-quoted investment company Pires Investments (PIRI). The expected admission date is 4 April. Last month, Pires invested £410,000 in a three-year convertible loan note. No interest is payable for the first nine months and then, if the AIM flotation has not happened it is payable at an annual rate of 10%, accruing from the date of the initial investment. As long as the valuation of Rame is more than $33.33 million before any new money is raised then the conversion would be equivalent to a discounted valuation of $25 million. No valuation has been placed on Rame in today's announcement. The nominated adviser and broker is Northland. Plymouth-based Rame (www.rame-energy.com The flotation will provide funding for projects, which Rame intends to operate, providing power to industrial customers. Santander Investment Chile is co-financing 15 MW of wind farms on two project sites in Chile. Rame has 28 onshore wind sites which have a potential total installed capacity of 1.4GW. Rame is also negotiating to acquire the rights to acquire a 20MW waste-to-energy project in the UK which will use rubber crumb as feedstock. | h2owater
