A Toronto-based battery materials company absolutely stole the session’s spotlight on Tuesday following yesterday’s announcement that its battery grade cobalt supply agreement with LG Energy Solution, a leading global manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries, has been extended and expanded from terms initially announced in September 2022, according to the release.

Shares of Electra Battery Materials Corporation (TSXV:ELBM) (Nasdaq:ELBM) skyrocketed on Tuesday, with shares trading on the Canadian side closing the session up at $2.72/share (+76.62%). This move could be an indication of things to come in the near future given the sheer magnitude of the momentum seen on Tuesday.

Well the "noise" helped people pick up some cheaper stock that is the great thing.

I concur it was a mistake and Jeff knows a hell of a lot more about the project than most, I have been on a virtual meeting with him some years back he is a thoroughly good egg as is DP.

They absolutely sometimes trade against - or rather don't hedge - their clients trades And with AI it's all the more profitable to do that Given that over 70 percent of all spread betting accounts are lose making it's a no brainer to trade against and only hedge the excess such that you can't make huge losses Takes short and longs to make a marketI avoided blowing up in the credit crunch because I read a short research price on Ambac in 2006 by Pershing/Bill Ackman - so I've a bit of a soft spot bias

I was fortunate enough to be included in the meeting last Friday with the directors. By being present, I can now be considered an insider, and therefore bound by rules of confidentiality.

Jeff is a good, honest guy who is trying to be helpful. He may have thought he was an insider but was given no material details that aren't public. It was no different to the sort of chat you have after an AGM or Proactive meeting. Everyone at the company knows that finalising funding is imperative and once done will open up a world of opportunities. That's the focus and we know delivery is all that matters, not words.

All copper juniors are getting hammered. Terrible market ! Any hint or talk of a recession and Dr copper is the first to take a beating! Apparently there is smart money on the sidelines that will get involved at some point either after the recession, or if it appears there won't be a recession. LoL ! But WTF do I know ! The world had gone nuts ! Sometimes I feel like everyone has gone mad and I'm the only sane person on the planet, which ironically probably means that I'm the one with mental health problems!

You can't get borrow for PXC So you can't short it (personally I'd need an extremely high conviction to short a small cap miner) Any spreadbetter taking your trade is doing so because it's small and they're confident that you'll screw up so they won't/don't need to hedge it
