Firstly hello to all fellow investors and traders.

Secondly I'm afraid I have some bad news. Yes that's right guys, it's a dreaded questionnaire!

I am doing a master's thesis on communications within online financial communities and would really appreciate your help.

Please could you aid with my research by taking 2-3 minutes out of your day to complete the below questionnaire?

Of course I am more than willing to share the results of the study with anyone who is interested. Just indicate the same at the end of the questionnaire.

Thank you very, very much for your help.

P.S. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at jaw73(at)aber.ac.uk

I confirm that all responses remain strictly ANONYMOUS and that no personal information with be associated with your responses. This study is purely for research purposes with no commercial gain to myself (unfortunately!)

Danny..
They have bought 50% of everything on licence 61, that includes the processing facility, pipelines, and other infrastructure.

Dbarr0n - sorry to ask you directly, but you seem to have your ear to the ground so might know the answer to my question. I understand most of the terms of the recent farmout with OIL, but one thing I'm unsure of is in respect to the processing and storage of the recovered oil. Clearly OIL have rights to 50% of the oil produced on the license, but do they pay PTR for the use of the processing/storage facility or was this included in the deal? Would appreciate your thoughts if you have any clarity.

ravin..

On the 4th of July 2014 they said,
"We expect to commence drilling at Tungolskoye later this month.
The T-5 well will be the first horizontal well drilled by the Company and is expected to take approximately 60 days to drill. Assuming a successful result at T-5 we plan to bring the Tungolskoye into year-round production in 2015."
I would guess that the well would take approx 20 days to drill and 10 days to test so a result on the vertical section is not due yet.

This is how long it took to drill T-4, that does not say T-5 will take as long because they now know within a few feet where to start coring.
(Sib 372 took 24 days for initial results)
The Tungolskoye No. 4 well was spudded on 16 May 2007 and reached
Total Depth of -2,900 metres subsea on 15 June.

Steelwatch, yes I would have thought they would have spud it by now but crucially halfway there in drilling it- 30/60 days have past, and we would have got a vertical drill result. Or is that not the norm? Does the vertical drilling not give an indication? Anyways it is what it is. Let's wait and see and as previously thought looks like early Sept is the result time for t-5 gla

Crudde99, it's always a guessing game with PTR,but since a new chapter has begun it appears all is in order. If you have concerns best contact them directly but not via email on their web page as this never seems to work. If the information you require is not price sensitive I'm sure they will oblige.

Best of luck :)

Should investors be left guessing as to whether the drilling on T5 has began...?? Dont think so...!! Lets hope T5 will be a good one.

I think Spud is thinking of results/indications on the vertical section of T5.With PTRs rather opaque RNS style I have no idea how they will release news on T5 as it is their first horizontal drill. If the results are good even our lot could not make the RNS seem 'opaque' in respect of clarity.GLTA - only another few months!!!

ravin - you said "If it was a great initial spud that was better than the market view than we would have been told by now no?"

A spud in itself is just commencement of drilling.

Dbharron ...'could' was the key word I used and I believe if initial results were a suprise/outstanding any company would have let the investors know. Fair play if there isn't a delay but this time round investors want clarity and regular updates.

DBYou are correct in pointing out PTR usually announce when a well is drilled not spudded as these are not high cost or strategically important issues. I do feel that a bit more forthcoming type of newsflow would help PTR in most investors eyes. The result from T5 is all that really matters.GLTA

1, Why do you think there is a delay ?,
They said they expected to start drilling T-5 in July after the farmout was completed.
They could have spudded T-5, They dont have to make an announcement when they spud and I wouldnt expect results on the vertical part of the well for 20-30 days after spudding.
They will probably be released for the AGM.

(Completion of Licence 61 Farmout)
We expect to commence drilling at Tungolskoye later this month. The T-5 well will be the first horizontal well drilled by the Company and is expected to take approximately 60 days to drill. Assuming a successful result at T-5 we plan to bring the Tungolskoye into year-round production in 2015.

spudders, I like Tristel (TSTL). Small company specialising in sterilising equipment/materials for medical and veterinary applications. Check out their last interims and the IMS after end of year. Has moved into a serious growth phase.

O/T - Let's see if August will be the month to buy on the back of market weakness.
I hold KENZ and should get paid out later this month, I would appreciate a heads up on any company's that maybe worth looking at. I'm overweight here almost morbidly obese so I need to look elsewhere and preferably not o&g, any input is welcome, cheers spudders.

Far point lets see what transpires.
The results are all that matters in the long term.
My point is the lack of info from the BOD and the opaque manner in which it is published.

sean - it is just possible the well has spudded. DF said:

"We have a planned multi-well drilling programme and will re-commence drilling at Licence 61 shortly. I look forward to updating shareholders with the results of this exciting programme over the coming months."

You may recall PCI commencing drilling on more than one occasion without announcing they had spudded. There is no rule which says they have to.

Not a bad bid price if someone wants in they have to start somewhere, or more hopefully is it Natlata creeping up again.

Looks like our BOD will miss their first target date under the new IOC regime. Pity I did think they would buck up a bit after the last few months of being pushed and cadjoled by the activist investor Natlata.

The T5 spud missing the July date is rather typical of the BOD news handling style - little and vague bordering always on the optimistic!!
