There's hope yet - the oil price seems to be 'rallying' since its low of Jan 2015. We could do with 'some' excitement.-From the BBC website tonight.."Oil prices are around their highest levels for the year. The price of Brent crude was at $63 a barrel on Tuesday, up 40% from its January low of $45 a barrel and near its high for the year of $65."

Sean, there's no mention of a 'hostile' takeover. Nobody would try a hostile takeover anyway when they know OIL would take the reins. My point is regardless of who tries what, OIL will be there as a safeguard for a few years anyway.

With regards to your bugbear of the directors buying shares I gotta be honest Sean, it's getting very tiresome. Not trying to cause an argument here but it's not the job of directors of companies to buy shares to reassure insecure investors. It's their job to run the company, learn from mistakes and develop a good business strategy. They seem to be doing all these things now. The drilling schedule could easily have been a jump straight at the most likely successful well but they didn't do that. Instead they chose not to cherry pick the wells and approached the drilling in a very clinical, businesslike and strategic way. That to me inspires more confidence than directors adding to their shareholding.

Yes, of course it would be nice if directors bought shares but look around at similar companies. Look at the discussion boards. No-one is bemoaning their directors not buying shares. Besides the fact that Petroneft's directors may not be allowed to buy right now (we ought to find that out) we don't know a thing about their other commitments/businesses/finances/families etc. It's really not an issue.

Anyway, I'm 100% aware that we all got in at different prices but for me right now I'm very happy with the way the company is doing things. I'm not ecstatic, just pleased - especially with the strategic drilling schedule. It's been a long haul for many here and I suspect it will continue to be so. Good luck Sean, and everyone.

Kev

You are right to point out the specific clause in reference to a 'hostile' takeover but surely OIl want an operator with local knowledge and if an entity with good connections in the area bids I cannot see them having any great loyalty to our management team who have brought the share price down to its now fairly disastrous level.

The last time funds were raised was at 5p so the executed OIL deal has not exactly been seen as beneficial to long term holders.

The existing BOD have not exactly shown great faith in PTR since the OIL deal by buying shares and if they are not keen to buy at current levels why should others with rather less deatailed knowledge of the Company!

ravin - no idea on that, sorry. My point to tens is that sometimes UK brokers put trades through on the secondary market venue which don't show up on LSE/advfn. Nothing to do with late reporting.

Steel how late...can late reported trades be reported...that was my point to ten as to exactly how he know/feels that a buyer is lurking there?! We all know shares have been shifting around, but that is based on knowledge of these lareg trades/ late or not.

For those pondering take-overs etc here is a line from the farmout agreement:

"OIL also has the right to become the Operator of the Licence should there be a substantial change in the management team of PetroNeft within the first three years."

t machine, there is always that danger of Natlata taking control and taking the mickey with salaries, pensions, contracts, expenses etc etc. Our current management are not exactly a NotForProfit volunteer team themselves. Also Oil India would take control of the entire programme if that happened.

Natlata own 19.77% , in turn they could purchase another 70million before having to make any offer to share holders. That sort of holding would aid any sort of takeover without a doubt, my only fear that they could stitch up holders on the cheap. It's just a matter of time for me ...still a very cheap producer.

We are in limbo for the next few months.Natlata cannot do any further buying without making a full bid.Who can think of anyone else who might want to bid for PTR, I for one see no rush forming by any suitors.Today's share volume says a lot!If POO keeps on rising we might get to 5p again VGLTA

TensThere is no real buyer at present just take a look at volumes for the last few weeks they are very low.Any decent buys would send this rising fairly fast as there is very little free stock to be bought as none of the existing large holders seem to be jumping ship.VGLTA

After changing my jan judgement month after some surprisingly good news...if this doesn't reach 7p+ by June/July, I.e double, I can see many long term investors losing their patience. Especially, some say targets are good to mention in rns's, but they could shoot themselves in the foot if they fail. Ten machine, I agree with you on not many shares, it's obvious, as even a single trade of 250k the other day shifted the share price Gla. Will need it too.

Well Crudde no doubt our fellow BB poster Dbarron will come out with the usual excuse that the BOD are still in a closed period!!!The complete absence of buying by the BOD does not help the perception that the Company sadly gives out and helps explain our depressed share price VGLTA

70p all the way back down to 4p and not a single director walked the plank..!!! I guess I will be informed now that the share price collapse had absolutely nothing to do with our excellent management team and that they were just really unlucky with the cards that they were dealt. They very least that they should be doing seeing as they are still enjoying a salary thanks to 4p Ptr is to club together and maybe just maybe buy a share or two between themselves. I wonder if their salaries have fallen by approx 90%. Naaaaaaa i doubt it..!!! BUY A FEW SHARES GUYS... GLA

Personally I don't think there is much free float and in turn much stock about , it could do 40-50% on news without a doubt on any half decent news with minimal volume.Recent institutional buying has underpinned the share price somewhat.

Granto, sorry about my English typing on phone. Agree with your points except gradual rise. By gradual I mean we could trickle up to 6-7p but I can't see what happened year back when it 'gradually' when to 70p. I see a spike up to 10p+ and that's your lot over short time if we get that reserve update.

Ravin, I think the opposite. I think this is rather stable and news either way does not seem to impact daily and the share price is driven by sentiment in market conditions and maybe activist SH buying or selling. Only the 373 well could be a small game changer. other than it, this a slow grind up.

it seems as though this stock will be a simple overnight sharp spike up or down...cant seem a momentum or anything driving this. Simply news will be out, fantastic or bad spike up and down. Unlike other oil comp which may see some momentum. This stock rise if one large trade (not that large really) as seen a few days ago.
