Sub 5p once again. Yes the oil industry is imploding at present, therefore if there ever was a perfect time for our board to come out of there x.mas slumber and say or do something that might just focus minds with a view to supporting the falling SP, now is the time guys...!! We're heading south again and rather fast...

In view of the current market turmoil in the Oil sector stocks they may as well put out an RNS to the effect that 'everything is just dandy' as anything as ambiguous as their usual content will knock the share price for six.The Oil deal is looking very sweet just now

Guys, there is an announcement from Urals (UEN) today which mentions the rouble situation and essentially says that the fall in oil prices is balanced by the fall in the rouble/dollar exchange rate to be company neutral.

Ravin, I'm totally chilled. It's the lack of respect and the ambiguity of Ptr RNSs which bug me. I'd prefer the bod to say "we're busy lucking after the company and so you won't hear from us for a couple of months. End of story." But indications that there'll be news and then there isn't any is irritating. It doesn't help the sentiment. That all said I'll repeat that I don't mind how low the share price goes during this oil price crisis because with the funding available Ptr will endure and, I expect and hope, come out much stronger than other potential competitors. It's very seldom I've had such confidence in a company - if ever.

Steel, I agree an announcement might not help - I'm thinking more along the lines of an update.

Granto, maybe we'll hear some sort of news in the a.m. He did say something about news within a week. Like Steel says, maybe not TOO much divulgence!

Yes they have started drilling the second well 9s (A-103)to the south of Pad 1 to better define the OWC and
prospectivity of the southern half of the field.

Kev - see my posts 27298 & 27302. An announcement right now would not have any great consequence. They hope to get the T5 result announced by year end and will, in my humble opinion, include Arb106 production flow rate, having allowed it to stabilise, and, maybe, even something else. The important thing now is to do the job right and not force things just to satisfy pressure for news.

Play it again Sam:

Granto well that depends on who i listen to.

Btw Kev, as you said earlier, "Clearer RNSs would be welcome but we need to be patient. Have a nice Christmas and relax ffs. Lol." Loll at post 27318

Kev, I understood that the Arb well had been completed and test flow results were due within a week, and the T-5 Horizontal was ready for the Baker Hughes section and it was also due to 'start' this week, and results later this year.

Granto. Broadly speaking that is my understanding. Normally I would have researched this issue down to the last detail but I simply have been extremely busy for the last 4 weeks or so.

In summation I see it like this:

Petroneft has been less affected by the oil price crisis than most other oilies. However, now with even internal (Russian) prices dropping it has become more of a burden on PTR. That coupled with anti-oily sentiment is bringing the price down. And let's not forget how even an update RNS would help. I'm very surprised and disappointed that the bod are displaying their usual contempt for investors (regardless of what they committed to) by simply not extending us the courtesy of an update. There is simply no defence when we were assured we would be updated regularly. Weren't we supposed to be updated on something at the end of last week? Something that came out at the Oil Barrel conference? Can't really remember.

Granto if I thought google was better, why would I even waste my time on these boards. Maybe because I trust a a few of the regular posters here. I think today share price movement has proven my point, 5p has arrived on little volume, case closed and nothing can be done about this share price drop but bod seriously working hard to get positive news out.

Ravin,Google is a wonderful resource. simply type in Baker Hughes for example and all the information pops up instantly. I am not being sarcastic here as not everyone knows Google,

Oil Prices. Kev, Oil is sold internally only as PTR does not export (yet(. The price is lower, about 45$ a barrel. and it actually increased in Russia this year, but I understand it is falling now. However, as I understand it PTR Oil price is connected to the international prices, so the simple answer is to say that yes it is connected, there may be a little insulation and internal protection. If you listen to DF he using the inter national benchmark when taking prices. No expert myself but thats my understanding. gla.

ravin..
The BOD and senior management have over 200 years of experience in the oil industry and quite a lot of it in Russia so I or anyone else here could hardly disagree with their views.
