My guess is both the Chinese government and Chinese oil & gas companies sees a long, sustained oil supply shock coming, and will be looking to secure supplies to protect against this. ;

Thanks for the link , I thought the presentation was cautious but still positive. Only a few weeks required to get production going , so hopefully will get a date before too long. Whatever always a good opportunity to top up as we will come good eventually ....

Regarding the LSE presentation 8th March 6:00pm, here is a summary of my recollection as it relates to Heron-1:
- Permits for exploitation not all in place (some progress made but not finished)
- Contract to carry out on-site completion/stimulation of the well not agreed yet
- Surface facilities not currently in place, permitting issues mentioned as a possible reason (need permits to put down equipment foundations for bean pump and tank etc)
- Experienced contractor is available in the country to carry out the Heron-1 completion/stimulation work and it is expected to take a couple of weeks of site work once contracts is agreed.

Proposal from DQE regarding risk-sharing/partnership sounded at a very preliminary stage given the amount of questions Mike Buck had about there proposal and how it would work. I am wondering how serious DQE were given this.

Regarding the lack of date finalisation about drilling of Heron-2 and Heron-3 I am concerned that the contracts for this haven't been agreed yet given the order book backlog for the drilling equipment/peronnnel Mike mentioned. I can't get my head round why If the drilling contractor is stowed out for months in advance but MATD still haven't booked there slot in yet, it suggests to me that securing the drilling rig this year for those wells doesn't look likely (my opinion only, reading between the lines).

It was interesting to hear the board is putting the squeeze onto Mike to use the placing money to develop Heron-1, Heron-2 and Heron-3 as opposed to thinking about wild cat drilling on Velociraptor, I guess this makes sense from a business viewpoint, and it is encouraging to note that the board is keeping an eye on Mike and making him focus on getting Heron monetized ASAP, which is correctly the priority.
