Just simple stuff, I believe the share price decline is overdone, look at the chart. Also I've looked at the shareholders, some new US value buyers. Also this can always be a takeover target. One for long term for me.

I reckon given risk free yields are now 5%+ the utilities sector as the TINA yield option is dead - that plus the service interest cost increases probably time to call it a day.

OFWAT also regulate Thames Water, that would not provide me with any comfort.

ON PNN, the current dividend is not sustainable imv, luck with your holding.

EI, part of ofwat's duty is to ensure water companies get a fair return on their investments. They are clearing up the water resources on behalf of the government - so ofwat tells them what to but ensures they have a reasonable return on any capital employed to do the work.

If any water company's financial viability were a problem as you suggest, then ofwat would step in with some sort o solution. These regulated companies are far lower risk than most quoted companies.

Is there a viable business here going forward?.

Divi at least partly paid from an
increase in net debt, significant extra CAPEX
likely required for years going forward to deal with sewage discharge.

Something has not to give and I'm guessing it's the payout at current levels.

Net debt up again, that's the way to do it, eh - or Not as the case may be.

Look how much their annual interest bill is.

Adding a small bit here again. Wondering with all the bad news atm, if the government wanted to buy out listed water co's, how would this work? Could they force shareholders to sell shares at a set price?

Pennon has increased its dividend 11 per cent in line with the inflation-plus-2 per cent policy.

Well positive points or not I bought back those I sold many months ago. Just before close at 802p. Not sure it's a great move but got to get the cash in ISA down. Zero interest for cash in my ISA.

Anyone got any positive points for pnn?I really can't see any, even though I wouldn't mind buying back in here.Everything i read makes me think pnn is some sort of social service, really generous to customers, themselves, partners - everyone except shareholders. I'm holding off buying back yet
