Looks like something similar is playing out at Topps Tiles (not a holder, just seen them on a daily 'losers' board and did some reading from there). On face value, not sure why one of their major holders is looking to remove the chairman...perhaps a remuneration-related gripe? Fundamentals looks solid at first glance, satisfactory performance results etc. I might do a bit more research on them to see if they might be worth adding to the watch list. Anyway, sorry for the slight derail, but I thought it might be of interest to some here, with the Hedin stuff in mind (obviously it is a completely different sector).

No TR-1's yet, which I thought we might have seen by now. Interesting. Perhaps it was a bunch of traders who expected a bounce to 22p or so, but exited just as quickly as they arrived when it did not happen? Anyway, I am afraid I am more inclined to agree with bridggar but who knows? You could be right, clive. IMO, if you want to hold here now, you need to be prepared for a long haul and have funds held back to ladder in if the share price does continue to post new year lows in the weeks ahead. Unless the next few months pan out completely differently to what I think will happen, this company will not be immune to a wider market sell off and I do not know what level would provide strong support now. Probably some trading opportunities on the way down, no doubt, but again, all IMO and I could be entirely wrong.

Is anyone really buying this in the current climate? Seems a difficult position to be positive about.

There a still a number of optimistic investors buying into pdg at these new levels. Question is what can one expect going forward.

The other issue that I see, is that Hedin walked away from their own offer, which was at a far lower price than they had earlier said they would accept from outside bidders. It would take courage for another company, even after doing the usual due diligence, to then make an offer that matched Hedin's one now, let alone in the range that Hedin said would be the minimum they would consider. Even if Hedin now came out and said they were open-minded to bids, without a red line price target, I would be surprised if one would now materialise. Most likely this is back to being a medium to longer term play, IMO. Which is fine if you have confidence in the company longer term, but you might need to brace for lower lows first. Not to mention whether you consider this stock to be a stronger risk/reward play than lots of other ones right now. Some of which are paying dividends and have a more harmonious shareholder/BOD relationship.

No buyback, no dividends, why is this company different from the rest of the sector. The only thing is the directors pay themselves bigger bonus than the other companies like vertu or lookers. Surely if the directors deserve bonus the shareholders deserve some payback as well.

Sold most of mine given it was trading close to offer. Around here starting to buy back given Hedin weren’t the only ones interested at 29

Maybe it would be for the best if they are, although it would take a long time for them to clear out, unless they can find another large holder to take their stake. No dividends in sight, auto sector deteriorating, all the other macro problems and a dreadful relationship with the BOD, which cannot be good for staff morale. Still not tempted at this price, all things considered, but hopefully shareholders get good rewards here before too long. GLA.

Are Hedin getting rid? Its like a bad marriage this..Hedin bids, company rejects, another company bids hedin blocks, hedin bid again and company says no thank.Shareholders getting shafted in this powerplay..

The sale of second hand cars should increase, as in London 37% are not compliant with the low emission zone due to be introduced within the M25 next August - People will either have to change their cars or pay £12.50 per day, thanks all to our current Mayor. This will be a real radically change for many people.

The 5.6m deal did look like a buy at 18.30p though, I could be wrong though. The price at the time was 18.30 / 18.05 I believe. However the price today did rebound from a low of 17.8 today.

Uncertainty all the way until 2030.

Should I buy a expensive electric car now... or wait for the price to come down?

Think I will make the fossil fuel motor last a bit longer.

Until we see a mass produced electric vehicle that is under £20,000 and can do 400 miles, and a very much improved infrastructure. It's a hard sell for the car buyer.

Should get a holdings rns...

Cars are continuing to pile up, I follow a few to give me some idea of pricing and numbers for sale... Numbers are growing and cars are being reduced slowly, I expect cars will see larger drops come next year if buyers don't return..

Are the sellers correct to sell out or are the guys who bought in with 211,000 & 100,000 buys wise guys ? ?
Did we notice the buy of 4.9m shares the other day?
Was that guy a fool or a wise guy.

Britishbulls have pdg on Friday as a buy recommendation.
May well be the bottom - spike upwards now, after the massive fall ? ? ?
Is someone accumulating in a biggest way !

Think pdg may have bottomed out.
3,3m one deal buy , plus another possibility

16th Dec - One buy for 4.9 million shares at 19.15p - now that is a serious deal.
The share price has taken a real fall of late, and it is the lowest it has been in over a year.

I guess we need to see if any of the ii's are selling down/out. I find it hard to believe the price action since the no deal news is only the result of PI's selling up, but I could be wrong :)

Agree vtu look more solid than pdg at present. It is crazy the pdg has gone from 27p to 19.3p

Yes, even in a depression, some companies survive and even thrive. Some well known global outfits were even founded during the last depression. Not sure that ABF and Next have bottomed...IMO they look fairly valued for this economic climate, but they do not appear expensive either. Would consider opening a position in ABF if they went sub 10 P/E, but appreciate that day may not come. Meanwhile, Pendragon continues to slowly sink lower. VTU definitely looks the better play right now, not least with that small dividend close at hand.
