UKAnalyst:

Recommendation:
Despite the continuing negative sentiment towards the financial sector, shares in Private & Commercial look good value for a number of reasons. On a price to earnings basis the shares trade on a multiple of just 5.7 times forecast 2011 earnings. In addition, the shares currently trade at a 28% discount to net assets of £5.87 million as at 30th September 2009. Our friend Evil Knievil is also a fan of the company, seeing it as a potential takeover target. In his own words, "PCF is a sitting duck." BUY.

Good to see KBC join WEST on the bid on level 2.

Just checked and it looks like Evil Kneivel (Simon Cawkwell) is still holding these (according to his diaries). He is someone who can spot a bargain a mile off.

Anyone give a quick snapshot of PFC's business model, assets etc. I'm going to research but i take a while, easy to get a quick overview from those already in.

Looks good last year profit of GBP262,978 - (However, it is important to note that the profit is stated after charging GBP427,422 on certain interest rate derivatives which protect our portfolio against future increases in the cost of borrowings but for accounting purposes are required to be marked to market. The profit before these non-cash items would have been GBP690,400 (2008: GBP1,069,548).

and 121k at profit at half year.

Less competition in the market, and they survived the GFC better than most of the global banks.

Was little volume on the way down and market makers took advantage of that fact.

Who would want to sell at the first signs of a recovery in the stock.

The fact you can sell well within the spread is telling.

Bones you also have to consider that the banks were and are still not lending so therefore people have to look at alternative methods of finance and that is where PCF comes in.

This must be th cheapest stock on the market, net assets of 17.2p, and profits should get back to about £1m this year for a pe of just over 3x. Sooner or later this company will be bid for IMHO.
