Well they have only trimmed it by c. 6% of their holding, which could be seen as being prudent if this came to nothing and the share price re-trenched.

Hmmm, I'm not convinced EH, and sadly it's all a little too fishy to me but I hope I'm proven wrong.I'm still sat on my hands here, like many I can't see the downside on the short term but it's not been a simple or smooth ride with PAYS so you never know!

Surely if they expected a bigger offer to be made, they would have kept the same stake for the sake of a further month or so?

They do not know something otherwise they would not be allowed to trade. It is merely risk management for clients in their funds after a big run up I would imagine.

They have slightly reduced by about 0.8% but not surprising given 14% ownership - a huge holding for a medium sized asset manager with normal client redemptions and fund performance to manage

I find it very encouraging that the share price bounced up strongly after dipping below 590p briefly.Perhaps some news shortly?

There must be a good chance a firm bid is made before the weekend as they will know they will be history if they wait until results day. Alternatively perhaps they will agree a higher offer the board would accept to be announced as an agreed bid on results day.

Longwell - you appear to have given the sentencing before you've even heard the case!! A little harsh me thinks! Extremely unlikely that Pays will be sold at £5.90. We haven't even had a bid yet!
