Hi safman. One thing ParOS have been working on is a toolkit that equips "less talented" engineers to develop controllers. They should be making good progress towards this goal by now as they are 18 months into the project that supported this activity.

For anyone that can be bothered to research - I recommend you phone up Patrick McHugh and ask him just how much cash they have in the bank right now.

My response was in the making after jaknife's reply before I read your latest comments longshanks

I agree with you longshanks that surely this techonology must be worth something and as I have said above the only hint is about ceasing trading of the UK trading subsidiary or selling it.

It almost deliberately makes no mention of Greece subsidiary.

I had previously stated my intention to gradually build up a stake because I believed in the technology and what it could do, I had intended waiting for the results to be announced and now will do that because I am not sure we will get any clarity before then. The results are likely to show just how much cash has been used up and more importantly a forward looking statement of what the future could hold.

I always believed they would have to raise funds at some point and their would be a dilution of some sort but I had hoped it would be from the price prior to the latest announcement.

Don't bother questioning whonosewhy. He (JakNife) thinks it clever to repeat his bland and ill-informed message like a broken record. He has his fans - but I suspect most of them have never had a reflective moment either.

interesting technology, i had a look at this board a few months ago, and the one thing that did stand out was the fact that to use the technology you had to be highly qualified, more so up to the PH.D level..

that tends to hold things back.. will have a look tonight but certainly, the last RNS non too positive..

saffy..

The strategic review is presumably what it says on the tin - i.e. a review of the strategy for the company.

I'm not sure how you arrive at delisting as the obvious solution when the only hint given is that the trading subsidiary Parametric Optimization Solutions Ltd could be sold or cease trading.

Presumably if it ceases trading then the parent Plc will have to pay off any debts from assets held which include the Patents and we are likely to see the sale of the patents.

As was pointed out earlier Mr McHugh made a sizeable investment in shares 12 months ago and so he may very well be keen to get a good price for the sale of Patented technology.

If this whole process woudl be easier as a delisted company then so be it but I just don't see it as the immediate and obvious solution you seem to be implying it is.

FWIW here is some analysis whonosewhy. Though why I bother - given the reprobates that hover here I don't really know.

In my opinion we are probably going to see one of two events occur:

1. The company sells itself to an automation major for $$$ and shareholders get a nice big payoff.

2. The company cannot find a buyer; rationalises its operations to focus upon those of its Greek subsidiary; raises finance on the basis of the rationalisation and speedier/more focused route to profitability.

-----------------------

How much can ParOS sell its IPR for. Well as some have postulated it may not be much if they "need" to sell. However - I don't think we are in such a position - in which case consider just who would like to have the IPR. Well you don't have to look far to find 4 or 5 large multi-national companies - who would literally bite off their right hand to get hold of it. Not so much because of the intrinsic value but the fact that it would prevent their competitors from holding it. Sophisticated "chip-based controllers" are the way forward for highly efficient distributed control and you only have to look at all the recent developments in automation to realise this.

So - will it happen? Maybe. What price? My guess is between £3.5m and £15m. If it is the latter then I have made a killing - if the former then I still have not done so bad.

Why do I think the alternative is the rationalisation? Well because by my estimates they have enough cash to see it through and in their position - that is what I would do. The only questions for me are whether the subsequent fundraising may prove too dilutive.

All this is very much in my humble opinion. But seeing as I have "gambled" a fair amount on my appreciation of the strength in the companies IPR I feel that I have an informed one. I haven't fallen in love with the share and deluded myself by dreams of what my millions of shares could be worth - I know and understand what the core technology is capable of. I would not recommend anyone buying purely on my say so but as far as I can tell there will never be a better buying opportunity than the period we are in right now.

Not quite the reaction I was expecting.

Just wondered if anyone had any opinions on Paro.

I have explained that I was only punting a very small amount and thank you for your kind offer longshanks.

I am free to choose who I like. I have never found Chancer particularly offensive whereas JakNife makes it his business to be so. He is the perfect "told-you-so" wise-ass - the type that sits at the back of the pub never sticking his neck out. I personally really detest that type. He also gets it wrong - regularly - but he never comes back to apologise.

Hi there 8T - looks like your latest stock is taking shape. I bought a few on your recommendation a few weeks ago. Could be bumpy but I like your rationale.
