Finals presentation makes for an interesting read.http://www.parity.net/system/files/uploads/financialdocs/investor_presentation_-_prelims_2014_final.pdf We may be back to where we were a number of years ago with some gyrations in the share price since then, but whilst previous rises were on as much hope as expectation, they were not really in a position to deliver, and rises were perhaps premature.Sounds as if there is more chance for sustainable growth now with no hidden legacy issues lurking and groundwork down. No doubt we shall see but it is interesting to note that there does not seem to have been much change in the ii's positions and support would seem to be there longer term.We can but hope and were are now so far into the year, the interim are almost upon us. Any news on groupseer partner is going to be interesting.

Anyone listen to R4 Today this morning? Article about search engines and the move from pc/tablets to mobile. If they are talking about it, how far down the road towards this are we?

Can't see 2yr contract win for a tie up with what was Newcastle Poly as the main reason for a 15% hike. Oversold yes, to my mind, bur maybe talking my book.

If you read the Andy Law article, it talks about the massive amount of 'between the lines' social media. Couple this with the info on what groupseer is doing, and suddenly there is an enourmous market that they would seem to be aiming for, but it requires the tech capability to exploit. Maybe people will start to join some dots

Perhaps a mixture of oversold and reaction to yesterday's contract news ? BR.

I know i seem to go on about it and heaven knows if it will prove interesting, but when not much comes forth as to what it is all about, it prompts you to look into things. I Googled GroupSeer and this is a newish posting that i found quite interesting from a company that is obviously working on the project. Suitably schtumm but gives a flavour:

''We're working as an R&D partner with Parity to help develop an innovative new product in the social media analytics space. Our work involves taking an early proof of concept through an iterative product development cycle, using big data technologies, unsupervised machine learning and natural language processing.

The product is currently still under heavy development, and we are working together towards refining product/market fit, so we can't say too much right now! It's a very exciting product in a dynamic and technologically fascinating space.

The core technology has been patented, some of our main technological challenges now involve ingesting large amounts of social media data on a scalable cloud-based architecture, parallel processing of this data using clustering algorithms and natural language processing to extract significant terms from unstructured data. We're also using an iterative process to develop the UI which will enable a new way of exploring and extracting meaning from social media.''

Blind me with science, but para 2 start to get my juices flowing.

Having raised 50m in VC funds, I see that Datasift has been dumped by Twitter. As it hadn't floated itself, it would be interesting to get the VC accounts to see what Datasift had been valued at and subsequently written down to.A possible example of the potential for both upside and downside for GroupSeer but not the whole story with the rest of the SuperCom package or target markets.

One can be cynical but to be fair, an interesting article written up by Andy Law. http://t.co/e0ZB7JNKmc Don't doubt the objective or the potential. Being able to see that doesn't mean that you will be first there. The share price maybe hovering around its 5 yr lows but at least the more immediate future has the chance of potential.

Not all those reds are sells,as topped up at 8.55,
the sell at 8.4 provided the deals above 8.5p
somebody was asking to buy for 8.5p iand they have dropped the bid to suit it seems...imho..

edit,
now 8.44p to buy with TDW.

It would make you feel more confident if some of the management bought in the open markets,
It would make us believe they believe eh...

So, a possible disposal of the professional part. How much would that be worth? Would a sale help realise value well above the present price?

Well, there's a surprise. The two divisions are now packaged up and separated and may have a different future.Despite the loss of some contracts for whatever reason, Parity Prof were there or thereabouts, re-focussed and re-launched. Hopefully better numbers to come but they will continue to produce. Work done, numbers out. Maybe stodgy, but almost predictable. Then SuperCom. Not that it has been said but looks like there has been a number of issues here. Teamaccounting had pointed to gardening leave and then it is detailed that Parity Solution people have been slotted into the senior roles at both Inition and Golden Sq. The hard cash of the earn outs (with pipeline business to virtually guarantee that year one) is one thing but a shed load of options at 27p if I remember correctly is hardly going to act as effective superglue. I may be completely wrong. Maybe the big launch is still in the pipeline but as stated in the commentary, it's incremental business assuming the first part goes well. Once again I can hear the tin can further down the road. And in addition, Groupseer. Once again progressive. The fact that it continues and has not been canned implies something and progressing to MPV should start to give an idea how long it's legs might be. I will be interested to see who partners up on this one. With such a diverse package making the whole, if any part does get moved on, the residual rump will be a different animal.

kemche - you've got to wonder haven't you? Flog off the body-shop, then take the VR side private ready to make some real money, having previously done their best to play down its prospects. Swinstead's last roll of the dice...

Oh please let there be exceptional costs.
Always.
Without exception.
Guaranteed.

And some "thought leading" garbage without any substance."

Done and done. 5 years of non-recurring expenditure that recurs - recurrently!

So what price for the body shop? Enough to pay off the finance facility? And then instead of two loss making businesses there will be one. Yippeeeee de bloody dee.

So the end result of all these new thought leading appointments is cash draining losses.

The gestation period for Groupseer seems to be never ending and may well result in a stillbirth at this rate.

"We can now target becoming cash generative in the year." Hee-hee. He's a card that Swinstead isn't he?

Team, been thinking about your comment above.I think you're right on both counts. The recent updates to the websites would imply that some preparations may be nearer completion so some sort of launch maybe almost upon us - heavens, it's been promised for long enough. That might be the the positive, hopeful element.Whether that is sufficient to kick things into any form of orbit is another matter as it seems to be an increasingly well resourced playground - that's unless we have something that is of real interest.

parity website - results centre says results due 8th April ( appeared a couple of weeeks ago ) guess the reason for the delay is either very bad or very good.

On linked in some of the Golden Sq senior management team are on gardening leave until April, and the founders of inition seem to have a low profile at publicity events.

guess 8th April is a coin flip - major bad news - lost contracts restatement of a/cs etc or - big launch - new team new products

With their track record I'm not optimistic
