...and another £12k between Peter's first email and the one he just sent me.

I have made the point that in the case of Paragon, tying buying behaviour to RNSs etc might not be quite so important as usual. Given the compressed time-frame - Manduca arrived in August 2014, the company was suspended in Nov 2015 - one could argue that buying behaviour was influenced by an aggregate of the RNSs released and the interviews he gave during that time.

But that's just my view. The lawyers' view is far more important.

Latest figure from Peter Petyt, sent to me this morning in a private mail but quoted with his permission:

"We're now less than £50k shy of £1.5 million. That's obviously before filtering the claims and linking them to periods following RNSs but it's a very good starting point (the numbers for African Potash are nowhere near as good!)."

I can only imagine the increase even since the beginning of this week is PDLN members realising where their best interests lie: not to wait for a hypothetical second CA but to go with what is right here, right now.

There are no guarantees I can give about a successful outcome - but one guarantee I'm happy to make is that I will try my very best to get the best possible outcome for all CA members. My best may or may not be good enough, time will tell.

However, right now it just feels good that something is happening, after 18 months or so of frustrated raging ;-)

Well let's hope we all get a result. We've made a good start, but still a long way to go...

Lama is such a waster, still cant work out why he is so upset over class action suit.

Manduca/nomad screwed you, not sure why you are protecting them.

Although this is the way of the internet, a lot of sad acts about.

Ive missed a lot in the last few hours. Wish Id been here earlier with all that exciting news and contemplation going on. Just who is Lama Rail? How many times can you say you really dont care and then do post after post trying to work out who I am?
You do make me chuckle people. Wheres the anger in my posts? Im only here for a laugh. If it gets to anger then Im quitting. I come here because its funny. Thats all. And you are right of course. I am Barry Bryan Junior the third, twice removed and once ridiculed.

Keep pressing that filter button. Ive got everyone filtered and that includes myself.

...and another s'holder applies to join the CA, just ten minutes ago. Didn't say whether he was PDLN, doesn't matter. More momentum for us...

Had a letter acknowledging receipt of mine, but nothing further.

If I have my way, Manduca won't be getting away Scot free.

Did y'all know, incidentally, that his brother Paul Manduca is Chairman of Prudential?

hxxp://www.prudential.co.uk/about-us/our-leadership/board-of-directors/chairman/paul-manduca

Another piece of the psychological puzzle. It must have driven Slippery Phil - arrogant, smug, full of his own self-importance, convinced he's a genius and everyone else (the City, geologists) is wrong - absolutely mad seeing his brother pulling down multi-million bonuses every year, while he's scrabbling around trying to start a sports agency business (a failure), ramping gold (failure), start a hedge fund (failure) before finally having to resort to a shabby little AIM fraud to get rich quick...

CS did you hear back from the CFO after you reported Phil to them? It would be unjust if he gets away scot free. The LN holders must be feeling particularly sore (in the behind) after throwing good money after bad.

A shame, really. The common enemy here is Manduca. We're going after Northland because - we hope - they have the money: but ultimate moral and ethical responsibility lies with Slippery Phil. Much as I'm enjoying taking Bryan apart lie by lie - even if I did have to spend £750 on the letter - it's just a side-show, albeit an entertaining one. In another world where people were smarter Bryan would be onside and we'd be tackling the bad guys together - all of them.

Well if he's not Bryan - or Barry - the obvious thing to do would be to just join the CA. Ergo...

Maybe he is Bryan, but whoever he is, he really needs to let it go. Not healthy for hi to dwell on these issues with such obvious and deep-seated anger. Maybe if he just got some counseling.....

If lama_brain is Bryan you should feel *very* sorry for him: he's out £122k plus whatever he kicked in for worthless loan notes, and he's down to 2 options - wait for Manduca to deliver this mythical funding (and good luck with that - never going to happen), or wait to see how the first CA does and, if it's successful, launch a second (not *as* unlikely, but I don't think that's ever going to happen either).

My conscience is clear: I offered him the chance to help me with the CA several times. Possibly he didn't think I was up to it, but for whatever reason he chose to keep faith with Manduca. He's made his choice and now he has to live with it.

Wow Lama - you certainly invest lot of time posting here for a man with no ownership or axe to grind. Yet you're hell bent on making personal attacks on CS. You definitely have an agenda here, so perhaps you are Vincy-boy after all...? You're certainly upset about something - I feel a bit sorry for you to be honest.

Latest update from Peter Petyt sent to CA 'preference' members today, and quoted with his permission...

"By way of brief update, we are now in contact with approximately 90 investors who have invested in excess of £1.4 million in Paragon Diamonds. We now need to do some additional work on the numbers in general, linking the investments to periods following the issue of the RNSs signed off by Northland, so that we can validate the claim value further for the purposes of funding.

We have also received and analysed some very valuable research from one of the investors which will certainly strengthen the basis of the claim.

Capital Law are currently working on bringing this all together and I am hopeful that we will be able to obtain funding approval before the end of October, at which point we will be able to issue you with formal paperwork to allow the claim to proceed. You may be aware that we are also working on a very similar claim for shareholders in a company called African Potash and it is likely that the two different cases, although independent of one another, will be run in tandem as they both rely on the same cause of action."

Super - I think that's you he's referring to in his second para. Good work, man ;-)

Sounds very much - as I suspected - that CL are keen to proceed with this; but obviously can't unless a funding application is successful to part-pay their time while they work on it (the balance, plus presumably a bonus, paid on success).

If you've wavering about whether to join the CA, sounds like crunch-time could be approaching in the next month or two. Once the paperwork has gone out to s'holders agreeing for CL to formally represent them, the CA subscription list closes and - as I understand it - no new s'holders can join. If you're not on-board by then you have two hopes: that Manduca will deliver (I know! I know! It's the way I tell 'em...) or that a second CA will happen.

But given that the total losses have increased even since I last communicated with PP at the beginning of last week, it now seems very doubtful whether there's enough quantum left for a second CA. I'm not stating that as fact, of course - decide for yourself.
