Beautiful pictures one and all.

When I look at the pictures of old buildings on narrow streets, I always recall happy times wandering up and around many of these wonderful old areas, that tourists love.

Unless these places remain, will our grandchildren enjoy the modern blocks of buildings in wide open spaces, as most of us enjoy visiting these historic places of great beauty.

Our quality of life has been snuffed out with buildings full of tiny flats, and with people that have no culture.

The SWCP is truly wonderful gift to us all and free to use - although its fair to say it costs a bit in accommodation along the way. 630m.

Walk it this year before the whole thing slides into the sea or the H&S brigade close more of it. 2mph avg up/down hill. 3-4mph on the flat.

Thanks as ever Freddie for brightening my day.

The old crane, boats and church create an almost timeless feel even though this is May 2024.

In 1850, a farmer found a secret village. It was later determined to be older than the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Archeologists estimated that 100 people lived in this village named Skara Brae, the "Scottish Pompeii." The houses were connected to each other by tunnels, and each house could be closed off with a stone door.
