Sienna, it is my opinion that the cholesterol product could spike or tank the share price given it is most likely to be the first major opportunity (and first of six potential deals) to validate the science and the market for these sorts of products. My concern is that without a major backer, a big question mark may loom for the other five deals and confidence will be an issue. I await to see what happens but if SOH goes the Go Figure route, in my humble opinion, this will be a mistake. But as I said before, let's wait to see what happens. My stop loss is my average at 40p so for now, I'm holding.

If you really believe the share price is gonna tank Mazzstar, don't you think it'd be a better idea to sell your holding now instead of waiting til the new year then?

Opti will still be able to launch the cholesterol product in April without a significant commercial partner in play however, it will be Go Figure 2.0 and the share price will tank due to a 'domino effect' of no confidence in the remaining five deals until of course, SOH can deliver on some big news.

From today's RNS it is now clear that no deals have been signed yet. However from the last RNS it appears that SOH and indeed OPTI are walking a very fine line by stating that they anticipates the release of several products by spring 2017 even though at this moment in time their is no commercial agreement/agreements to back this up. This has without a doubt set expectations but I wonder what plan B is if the obviously expected agreement/agreements do not materialise?

I'd recommend having a look at JS490's post on the other board regarding today's update. It's well written, thoughtful and I agree 100% with what he says.

It's interesting seeing all these chunky buys...yet the ask keeps ticking down on buys- as though there was a seller!

If I've got it wrong I'll happily come back and say congratulations, otherwise I'll just say nothing.

Genuinely I wish you all good luck, but that's me done on this thread.

Michael.

I hope you're not playing the guilt trip card ;-0

I appreciate the sentiment with ref Madchester. I have aspirations higher up, perhaps Middlesbrough or Sunderland...have to see how OPTI does for me. I suspect we share the same humour...it's a concern I'll learn to live with.

Yes indeed, your time has been wasted here, though fun at times. But seriously, I do honestly believe you have OPTI pegged wrong. I hope you have the good grace to come back and say so...there's a bottle of single malt in it for you.

Something we can agree on - Nothing you, I or anyone else say - we ain't going to move the share price

I have to sign off now...my eyes are smarting. ;)

FFS elrico I've now come over all soft and gooey!!!!

Firstly, I've actually no idea where you live, and hopefully you're beginning to understand my sense of humour? If it's genuinely Manchester then can I send my commiserations. ;)

As a Christmas present, I'll stop posting here. I'm probably here for all the wrong reasons anyway.

I've no particular interest in this company, and quite frankly don't need to be posting on the BBs at all.

Whilst I'll almost certainly never buy shares in Opti, I've no wish to come across as vindictive to genuine investors. In real life that's just not me. So I'll wish you all success in the future whatever your choices.

As I've said many times before, whatever I say or you say or anybody else says, at the end of the day the company, with it's Directors and employees decides its own ultimate fate.

GLA and it's a pint of pedigree if I'm buying or a nice malt whiskey if you are elrico ;)

I'm intrigued to know how the designer ingredients will manifest itself! This area is going to be huge! I'm imagining OPTI having some sort of clinic in Harley Street, London...where the well to do go to have their stool samples tested!

Risky, I'd love that to be true, but why not just come out and say that, rather than let us bungling Watson's try to decipher the scientific breadcrumb clues he leaves behind in some obfuscated manner.

Spike opti went from 8p- 80p+ in just over a year. Opti had no financial deals. For skin, a deal may be In the background, but if not huge amounts of value are unlocked purely on derisking the science - you can guarantee the corporates will be crawling once the science is validated as what is clearly happening with opti currently. Also opti will retain a fair share of skin, which will obviously grow opti share price in parallel even if the value is lost initially (how much will depend on what opti retains in skin).I got from today's rns that this sugar has its own cholesterol reducing effect of over 20%. If this is correct we now have: a probiotic using 0.1g of ingredient to produce a cholesterol reducing effect greater than or equal to 2.5-3g stanols, a prebiotic sugar that increases this strains effect threefold and now we've just found out it has its very own cholesterol reducing effect of up to 20% alongside all this. Mentions on the website that we will eventually have a product that will be a probiotic prebiotic combination. From this data its becoming increasingly likely we'll be getting more than out fair share of this enormous market ......think we can guarantee a mn will snap this up

Try as I may, I have had a gander through a lot of RNs in case I’m at risk of making a tarts handbag of myself. There is more to the today’s RNs than first reading.

Scientific Update states OPTI now has the ability to “manipulate both the microbiome's composition and its function.” Whilst I accept this has been spoken of previously as a feasible possibility, a great hope - It was first muted on 26th Oct and made the point it had never been done before. Today we are given specifics not general.

By manipulating the “microbiome's composition and its function” it offers a pathway to “designer ingredients or supplements which can modify an individual's current microbiome to improve health with “potential for precision microbiome medicine.” SOH has spoken about in general speaking terms when discussing the humane microbiome as a science to be developed. SOH seems to be saying OPTI have unlocked areas of the microbiome he believes he can make commercial inroads with.

We were also treated to more details of novel sugars, which “demonstrated the ability of its novel oligosaccharides (carbohydrates that consist of a small number of sugars) to reduce cholesterol in human gut models by 20%.” The last update was 26th Oct – though similarly worded, no data for the success were offered at the time.

These results added to the diversity of OPTI IP and Patents which combine well with “existing product opportunity offered by OptiBiotix's LP-LDL cholesterol reducing strain from supplements to ingredients, greatly increasing the market opportunity. Again, this offers scope on the diversity and complementary science, discussed previously and confirmed by SOH this could be the case (see email reply to me posted by someuwin in the header - apparently removed by someuwin post 17404). I guess you could argue this is not new – it depends if you are half full or empty. We now know novel sugars and cholesterol have been de-risked and now have the ability to combine.

I am not going to bang on about the commercial agreement, other than to suggest OPTI are being guarded with the wording of the RNs due to NDA. “Late stage” could mean almost anything at this stage. However, as I have said, I do not think SOH would put his head on the block with his anticipated product launch by spring 2017, given how many are disappointed no MN has actually been named.

If there is nothing new as some believe then you can only conclude that news for the skinbiotix demerger is closer, hence the rehashing of old news. I happen to think there is new info and perhaps there is some merit in the timing. Time will tell.
As JJ say’s – I am also sanguine.

Michaelmouse - You already demonstrated you cannot get to grips with OPTI business model, or understand the science and how much its been de-risked in the time you have been bashing it. In the battle of wits you're an unarmed man!
