I agree to an extent llol, but can you imagine going for a rights during the worst financial crisis we've ever known. The SBTX money was in the bank, no hassle.

manc10 - I don't dispute the reasons for Opti's SBTX share sale. But the fact remains without raising the cash that way, they'd have needed a rights issue to fund the necessary supply stock. Either way, they timed their sale abysmally and further diluted the prospects of any future special divi for LTHs.

aim has a herd mentality of quick gain or quick loss traders you are in flavour or not and opti is not the flavour of the month ,but as a long term holder its easily the best spot the company has ever been in , when i first invested it had zero products just a pipe dream its all down to sales and numbers now for a rerate

They’ve got to come up with something meaningful in an rns...or it’s goodbye. I think the competition is too great, with people like General Mills swamping the diet market with their products! Etc

lord loads of bulls%%t the reason sbtx was sold was for an opportunity eg opti pharma you no those 10times the size of holland and barret some one has to pay for the products to then be shipped

Opti sold SBTX shares to avoid a rights issue. SIMPLES. Though why they had to sell at around 6p recently, given that SBTX has tripled since is totally beyond me. Surely they've got better visibility of their spin off than that? Also, selling off the family silver is less than ideal for Opti's LTHs who were banking on a divi from the SBTX spin off. Anyone know if SOH has commented on this recently and whether a special divi is still on the cards for Opti holders any time soon?
