I think if half of what the company is talking about comes to pass we will all be laughing.....

Trotters, I think you are right. By the time they announce the intermins, even if the revenue reported is pants, there should be plenty of ongoing stuff to keep up the price appreciation.

If half the stuff referenced by SoH in the interview comes to fruition this B.B. is going to be absolutely buzzing ;0)

Yes, because opti’s investment in sbtx is already factored into the current share price. In fact, you could argue that if you stripped out the sbtx value from Opti’s valuation then the reduction in the core Opti business is even more devalued from the last placing.

Imnotlong - Are you counting SBTX in your value enhancement equation?

Sienna, if you are OK with some company I think I will join you for the next couple years( at least). It seems to me that a placing to accelerate pharma is about as good as reason as you can get...

SoH talks about value enhancement. yes, since IPO.
However, the last placing in Feb 2016, market cap was £63m.
Today, over two years later with all the progress made to date, market cap is £54m. That in my book is not value enhancement. That to me is a £9m reduction in value.

Still, looks good going forward if these bigger deals materialise over the next few months.

Pharma route will cost them dear, many more fund raises to come.

LOL - Nobbyhead there is absolute truth in what I write and f@ck all truth in what you write. Stick to the liars thread Nobby where you belong.

Have Opti released revenue figures for Dec 2017-May 2018 Nobby? Of course not because they're cr*p. Is Opti going to be profitable next year in the same way they didn't need a fund raise Nobby? Is SOH's and the lying trolls noses getting bigger Nobby?

Now run along Nobby there's a good boy.

suzy - Not peculiar at all is it? I think what you're saying is you'd much prefer I didn't expose all the lying b@llsh@tters like yourself though Suzy eh?

Now run along with Nobby please Suzy. People want to read facts from investors such as myself not lies from you p@llocks. You just clog up an informative thread.

Many more fund raises to come. See post 2261.

MichaelMouse,I was under the impression that SOH said that Opti had no need to do a placing, unless an extra opportunity were to arise that required extra funds? (Which certainly seems to be the case here).Being as you're so well researched on Opti, I guess you could let me know if my impression was incorrect? If this is indeed an opportunity not to missed, then don't you think the BOD should be allowed some time to demonstrate to the shareholders why these extra funds are in fact a good idea?AIMHO of course ; )

Interesting news today. Did not expect a placing if I am entirely honest. However, I did not expect Opti to go down the pharmaceutical route so soon. From the RNS and SOH's comments we have a 7 figure deal on the table from the US to license LPLDL as a pharmaceutical product. The problem is the requirement for upfront fees to split with Sacco to invest in an independent pharmaceutical production line. £500k is clearly a significant chunk of Optis remaining reserves. TW states Opti have £900k left as of the weekend which would easily see Opti through to profitability YE 2018 on current cash burn. SOH has been presented an opportunity too good to delay, similar to SBTX which is now beginning to bear the fruits of his foresight. I'm very interested and excited to see this all play out.

from an earlier post I saw this snippet regarding the cash and current trading

'love him or hate him,TW's take on today's developments:

- After the results last week the knockers said that Optibiotix (LSE:OPTI) would place as it was running out of cash. They were half right but half very wrong. So before they gloat.
One bear – Mr Cynical Bear of ShareProphets – insisted that cash – £1.25 million at November 30 would be down to £500,000 by now hence the need to place. He spoke from ignorance. Cash at the weekend was £900,000. The cashburn in HI has tumbled as revenues have started to kick in. By the end of H2 Optibiotix will be generating cash.'

If this is the case, why isn't this information being released as part of a trading update? If the last 6 months trading is significantly reducing the cash burn, then give the numbers. Surely this is key information that current and future investors need to know??

Talking to yourself is the first sign of madness😜..... Only just seen this thread.

However, clearly there is some truth in some of what you write. Nevertheless, the stock market should look into the future and discount what is GOING to happen not what is happening now. There is a good chance the business will be profitable next year at the latest with profits growing quickly from thereon. Yes that makes it difficult to value but I am happy where it is now. Of course I only started buying in the high 50s recently so I guess it is easy for me to say that😏.

Michaelmouse and monkeywrench. ... I have to assume from your posts that you don't own shares on OPTI ... please correct me if you do. But I really can't understand the hours you spend and waste hating this company and posting if you are not a shareholder. All very peculiar ....
