Agree Risky, SOH knows exactly what hes doing and his fortune is at stake :-)He understands how to increase the value of OPTI and is going about his business
As Ive said before on this and other BBs. Lots of investors dont seem to grasp /understand what is being put in place and that the model will take a little time as we transition.

"So what if we do have to do a placing. Like every other shareholder here I don't want the company to do one, but what is the worst case?"

The point would be that you don't yet know what the placing price would be and how much they'd raise (hence you don't know the extent of any dilution), and if indeed anyone is that interested in taking part in a placing apart from the usual suspects. Perhaps more importantly it would show that they haven't kept their word i.e. Opti don't need additional funds has been the oft repeated mantra from the company (we're lead to believe) and the Opti bulls. I beg to differ. We'll see whose right in due course.

AIMHO as ever.

Dan no need for a placing. Opti spent around £700k on SBTX which is why cash is where it is. As we know this is worth £6m now and is beginning its appreciation. As I said before Opti either has an extra £700k in the coffers and everyone isn't panicking or talking about a placing or it has SBTX as a current asset worth 1000x that amount. There are no issues with a placing unless it is purely to cover operating costs. Opti have this completely mitigated by its exceptional investment in SBTX.SOH did not leave SBTX within Opti as a whole because Opti would very likely still be in the current trading range as we await revenues. The market would simply ignore any progressive RNS from it unless it had numbers as we are all aware of. On its own it's risen over 50%. Following successful human trials this price will significantly increase.

So what if we do have to do a placing. Like every other shareholder here I don't want the company to do one, but what is the worst case?

We raise 2m Pounds, that is a dilution at our current market cap of 4%! This would then mean we have about 2.6m of cash in the bank (amusing cash is now 0.6m) and with costs running at about 1m a year that would give us another 2.5 years of cash even if we didn't generate any revenues.

I believe we are now generating some revenues and within 2.5 years we will easily be making a profit!

A problem I see is that the average PI can't seem to get their heads around the model thinking that when an announcement is made this is an order of Optis product and revenue. It is not. It is an agreement to license the product meaning that partner can either put Optis technology into existing technology or create and brand an entirely new one. Clearly depending on which one and the size of partner will determine how quickly the products actually hit the shelves.Nimrod every product will have the Slimbiome/LPLDL on EVERY product containing them. You can really tell who are the most knowledgable investors on here who would have known not to expect much in terms of revenues due to the process of deal making in this period and the technology being only made commercially ready in May 2017. Once the accumulative orders from Galenicum, Nutrilinea, Pharmabiota, HLH, Cereal ingredients etc etc are booked this year the transition from R&D and the visibility of the cash going straight to the bottom line will ultimately show and reflect the optimism which is clearly coming from the Opti camp.

I suspect the half year figures will not be great either or they would have made reference to them yesterday. So it could be deja-vu again when the 6 months figures are released. The second half of the financial year are when the revenues will really start to flow with monthly breakeven hopefully being achieved by November. And from then onwards, well who knows, the sky’s the limit.

PJ1, yes H1 results would be great and with their tight structure the numbers should be quickly available. However there may be tighter rules on what they can report at H1 than just offering up revenue to 31st May.

aspex- excellent point. It could work both ways though. Whilst I don't for a minute expect a trading update as such (or there would have been one in yesterday Results imo)

Maybe in your post you could substitute ''trading update'' for very prompt HY Results?

The present H1 is the first six months when OPTI has been trading.
This ends in a few days on 31st May.
It is an opportunity for issuing its first ever trading update as soon as numbers are known. There is no obligation in an update to offer any information that is forward looking and commits the company to any expectations, and so why not do it if the numbers stack up.
It could be as quick as mid June if they choose to do so.

Majority of people knew that revenues would not be presented in the end of year results.
The share price has now dropped.... Panic ensues... Oh no opti are going to fold, not selling anything, needs funding, website late, in downtrend etc etc. Arrrgh, the world is ending

Lol, yes we all want some cheaper

nimrod, HLH have OPTIBIOTIX on their lpldl products. I would think it is part of the intel inside we keep hearing about. We need those retail outlet we were told of and mighty quick or we are heading lower still.

The shares have been traded for a few years now. That why i sold out months ago.i trade them occasionally when the opportunity arises. When they break the long term downtrend i will buy and hold.

OPTI should consider to specify in any deal that their Logo appears on any product that contains their technology (maybe they do, but I've not seen it).

Nimrod
`You would have to feel sorry for those that are pulled in to buy on the promise that everything is rosy.`

This is why i detest the acts of the rampers. I respect the research effort of elrico but it is plain to see that the financials do not support the MC yet. I still think we are at least 6 months away from meaningful revenues.

I took an initial position and will add when the revenues are more visible.

Ah the exquisite agony of being an OPTI shareholder.

Every time - every bloody time!

I'd give sooo much to be allowed to enjoy being in profit for more than a couple of days before we tank back down again.

Traders must be making an absolute killing from this share.

Oh well, here we go again - back to re-reading all the RNSs and drooling over what's to come - one day...

I can think of a reason for any size sale of SBTX for any reason other than investment opportunity, the share price would crater because it would be a huge red flag suggesting revenues are even further away and of course the stated break eve.
