As for not advertising GoFigure, the amount you would need to spend to make a significant difference is way more IMO than the current profit margin, and would require a considerable uplift in sales to get back to break-even.

However, from the point of view of getting articles into magazines, not advertising is a bonus - it gives incentive to writers to allow their readers to discover the product that is so successful it doesn't need to advertise - it simply sells on merit.

Best wishes - Mike

The drop in the Bid seems way overdone. Are the MMs fishing for shares this morning?

Parob, risky and everyone else that PM me. SOH has sent a response for my attention to Wallbroke which should clarify the cholesterol data up. I'm hoping I get it AM, at least that is SOH is expectation as of tonight. Wallbroke had quite a few results to deal with, hence the delay.

Portrush, another element to consider is that diet products have a fairly unique element to them and this is they play on peoples emotions in a way that few other products do. I have lost appx 15lbs so far using go figure and the first thing people at work ask is how? One person at work commented that she has reached a point on her diet where she isn't progressing, asked about the shakes and where I got them and she has now ordered some go figure shakes to try. If you look at how slimming world has grown, a large contributer to the brand is community word of mouth. While there will definitely be a place for corporate marketing of the business, the fact this this is a product that does actually work will I think help it to consistently produce month on month growth in its early stages.

Cnbc item tonight on coke cola panning the industry as dying lke tobacco due to peddling sugar water. Emphasis on cost control like Dr pepper and snapple. No mention of solutions like sugar substitutes. Rather low elasticity means people will pay the extra taxes.

Kipper, I don't doubt it...I was only making the point as people are getting excited by these 200 stores. The marketing for Go Figure now has to step up a gear or two as it's been extremely low key. I look forward to seeing how they go about it and maximise this increased distribution. I'm invested primarily for the cholesterol and bp lowering products, so anything Go Figure does is a bonus for me.

Portrush - I didn't thumb you down but I think your comment was rather futile. There is plenty of marketing experience in the OPTI and THWLC teams and I think they can be trusted to run a professional and effective marketing campaign to promote Go Figure

Whoever red thumbed me for my post about marketing, would you have the courtesy to explain why? Seemed a perfectly reasonable comment to me...

Having just visited Iceland (sitting in Keflavik airport now waiting for our flight back to the UK) we popped into a Lyfia pharmacy (on the main high street) in Reykjavik and found the GoFigure bars available prominantly placed right by the counter (very competively priced too) and the shake boxes a few feet to the right of the counter, also... very competitively priced - although, thats not hard as everything here in Iceland is bloody well extortionate!! And the new 200 retailer will have a significant higher footfall than existing stores, which could put significant pressure on Slimfast brand owners.

Quite surprised there was no RNS for the news of Go-Figure launching in Revital. If I didn't follow this bb I'd have no idea. Maybe they don't think this launch is big enough. I hope OPTI will do an RNS when it launches in the 200 stores.
