Risky

Pretty sure I’ve seen somewhere recently soh suggesting overheads are reducing in some instances.

I assume this is due to further testing and lab work costs being picked up by new deals/partners.

So rI dicing overheads and increasing revenues and yet another deal today.

The numbers for this latest Vietnam release look large.97 million population. Lots of high blood pressure.Second highest health response in ASEAN group after only Singapore and marketed by a Singapore based company.Hard to have a negative for all of that.

Just for clarity...Opti models itself on the intel inside type business model. You wouldn't see Intel publicising their chips directly to consumers as the IBMs, pc worlds etc via b2b is their market. Intel would have been unheard of as it built up its brand from scratch. It got so big & well known because it was 'inside' virtually all operating systems & its brand logo widely recognised because of this.Opti use Vane Percy Roberts who are well recognised in the PR gig & do a pretty decent job. Opti are often in well read industry articles such as Nutraingredients & many others. A quick google brought me this April's Sunday times article on Opti https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/sugar-free-alternative-sweetens-pill-for-shoppers-optibiotix-stevia-saccharine-v28prtnhwI can only assume people miss these & just want something to moan about because it's not in their face. A company throwing cash at product pr in an attempt to sell product directly to the consumer would do this. These are the slimfasts etc. Completely different model & £5m would disappear very quickly in this type of marketing model. The only downfall to Optis model is the time it takes to build the supply chains. It's becoming very clear from the number of products coming to market these are sequentially completing across the globe now. Costs remain around £1mpa as this builds which clearly gives phenomenal profit potential & will be well worth the wait.

The pr you talk of they already have. They have been in the Sunday times & numerous mainstream papers very recently. As per usual this gets overlooked. To be honest their pr is actually pretty reasonable. The pr with tv adverts etc is expensive & £5m would be just for starters if Opti were promoting & selling their own products & promoting like you would expect a company selling product. That is not Opti model

BIDS is in bubble territory I would like to own some but valuation vs reality has gotten a bit ahead of itself IMO. Maybe if we get a decent pullback

Everyone gets impatient and of course wants the share price to go up ASAP. However, since they do not need to raise money, it really doesn't matter when the value gets recognised for true investors. So endless agonising about PR either for the products or the company is a red herring IMHO.

Have to respectfully disagree Risky a PR company can be employed for virtually peanuts £25-50k pa and would help to promote articles in publications like the Sunday Times magazine for example which would help brand awareness no end. They missed a trick after Christmas and for summer beach body ... I really believe this is an oversight from an otherwise well run company.
Not sure where £5m was plucked from seems ludicrous.

I don’t need convincing mate.

I have been involved recently in seed funding for start ups and recovery plays and once that line of break even is crossed the growth invariably goes exponential.

It’s usually the sector acceptance by senior corporate players thatbis key. Hence why I am massively impressed we’ve been able to attract the recent appointments.

Speaks volumes.

My only gripe isn’t with product pr but with getting opti’s story out to a wider investor audience.

I’m sure that will happen and is more likely to be a key to value growth than actual company progress which is sad really.

Gone are the days where fundamentals count.

Exactly shrewd. I'm not sure why the PR comments always come out. Not sure how many times it needs saying but Opti are a technology company operating via business to business model. They are not publicising their products to sell as this would need significant amounts of investment > £5m+ & a drastic overhaul of the low cost high margin model. It is Optis partners that incorporate the technology & publicise their own products containing Optis IP. This builds Optis products brands globally at zero expense. This of course builds significant value. I also sense boredom, volumes have fallen off a cliff. The announcement of Steve Prescott who has left the board of Probi & was the top man for probiotic products in DuPont sends a massive signal on what's inevitably coming. The fact he's going to be CEO of Probiotix & based in the US speaks volumes. Just imagine his network of contacts from his Probi & DuPont days. These types do not join minnows unless they know they are going big league. If people have been paying attention they will see a trend of recent appointments such as Neil Davidson, Sean Christie (both FTSE 100 board & executive experience at top firms), Fred Narbel & Steve Prescott (both sector specific sales expertise coming from VP position of big corporates) are all joining to now take Opti to the next level. SOH is building a sound business here make no mistake about it.

Seed are go To be a sector leader and they are only one of many Opti customers.

There’s a lot of negativity and impatience at the moment.

Now is not the time for long term holders to be impatient.

Opti’s products are being well received and more importantly work. There’s new products, new customers and new applications all being worked on.

The snowball effect carries on.

The price probably got ahead of itself last summer but at sometime soon it will be playing catch up to reflect the progress being made.

Clearly they have a woefully inferior product, but a far superior PR company representing them.

A non digestible, calorie free, sweet functional fibre is far healthier. Fibres are the new health craze stateside which will soon follow in Europe. 40% reduction is good & I like the concept in terms of environmental but no comparison really & likely to have difficulty scaling.

Been around for years. They just found another way of making it.

Xylitol is safe in the amounts found in foods. It seems safe as a medicine for most adults in amounts up to about 50 grams per day. It also seems safe when used in water to clear the sinuses. However, avoid taking higher doses by mouth. There is some concern that extremely high doses for long periods of time (more than three years) can cause tumors. Xylitol can cause diarrhea and intestinal gas. It is probably safe for children as a medicine in amounts up to 20 grams per day.

Looks like a far inferior product to me... it still has calories, has zero fibre and is not even suitable for much of the beverage market, not even close to Sweetbiotix

Nice product... but based on that article i cant honestly see it blowing opti out of the water. It says nothing about being a functional ingredient and its only 40% less calories (a nice drop but not impressive compared to Sweetbiotix claims).

Just because sweetbiotix is not over the front pages doesn't mean big things not going on in background. Sweetbiotix is about bulk additive sugar market ie ingredients. Just be patient.

perhaps a chance to get an update on Optis sugar progress. Reading today of a new product already on the market that could blow Opti out of the water.
