According to the arch pessimist/critic on this thread, the fall in the share price has been due to the debt the company is carrying. IF that is true, then the last thing Mr Gupta should do is buy back shares. Even IF it is not true, buying back shares is not the answer. India, is and will be for a few decades to come, unable to meet its insatiable demand for electricity, with thousands of villages still living in a dark world after the sun sets. These villages have the potential to launch new industries and create thousands of jobs. Thus whatever money he has spare, should not be on used for'buy backs' and instead invest it in more solar energy projects, which can be easily constructed and provide a quick return on monies invested.

With OPG being one of the most efficient generators of electricity, IF, Mr Gupta, were to make a bid, he would find some very big players looking over his shoulder.

Not surprised at this. There was nothing on offer at the close and the chart screams
a gap up back to around 40p so I'd be happy with profits in the 37-40p region.
And those with staying power could well get a lot lot more

Listening to the audio presentation it sounds like a share buyback could be in managements thinking, considering how canny he was about the issue. I think the shareprice where it is has given them the shock they need to deliver the goods for stakeholders.

This share will be a fantastic hold for anyone's portfolio at these levels. It's a shame many have higher averages but don't get caught in the trap of selling just as the overhang has cleared (check the historical volume chart!), with a pe of 4 and double digit growth in the next few years, Mr market will bring this back to 50p, consolidate (shake out the weak) then onto new highs in 3 years imo. Solid hold.

Please let me know of any other cheap stocks like this. Thanks.

Blimey a few p rise and everyone wets themselves when this thing is still down 75% from its highs. Given my shareholding (most of the HL shares in case you wonder Flowerhead) I'm happy but doesn't address all the other issues which if we are to see a more sustained rise to 50p and beyond have to be addressed.

Let's not get too carried away - looks like MM's are doing a good job balancing supply and demand, and avoiding wild fluctuations up and down. Long may the slow and steady ascent of the share price continue...

1000 max buy online, even went into auction at the close the mm's had no online
stock to offer. 30p will not last long. Maybe the mm's will open it higher pre market.

Really, Well we know the bid is at 28.25, for 10k. Morningstar is showing a bid/offer of 28/29. A Buy trade went through at 15.49hrs @ 28.9p. So I suspect online, the offer is now 29.25p. OPG is currently the fxxxth Fourth largest riser today on the FTSE Aim All Share Index. Traders and chart buffs will be looking at that sort of stuff.

PS: Between 1606 -1612 hrs, 4 trades went through at 29p. 1623-1628 hrs, 3 buys of 1000 @ 29.5p.

This is that squeeze I mentioned a few times when eventually there would be no overhang and the mm's have little stock to offer. Highest offer of the day 29.5p
and you cannot get a quote online to buy even 5000 on it.
Even though OPG is a big stock it does have it's moments where it can add 10% on small buying volume now there is no overhang. That could happen tomorrow.

Cannot buy online at 29p as well azalea, this could test 30p before close but if not it should tomorrow morning. Nice to get some back with this stock at last, last 4 weeks has been very painful.

I think its just on the device of the person whose doing the filtering. Otherwise any individual could block out everyone's posts on everyones device.

Yes, I meant the filtered users don't show on the screen of logged on users who have blocked these people. In fact, would be even better if I didn't even get notifications of new posts by the filtered users.

How does that work? You filter someone and we can't see the posts? Or just on your device?

Have emailed ADVFN to suggest that names of filtered posts should should not even show on the discussion thread, would make for a much cleaner and pleasant experience for all concerned.
