Yotta DCL's maps UK road network in contract with A-one+

Written by Yotta DCL
Thursday, 28 February 2008
Oxford, UK, 28 February 2008 – The integrated highway services company A-one+ has awarded a contract to Yotta DCL for a high-tech survey of the entire 500km road network within the Greater Manchester/Liverpool conurbation.

The survey will use Yotta DCL's groundbreaking Nano technology with high-resolution 360-degree photography for precision mapping of highway inventory throughout the area known as the Highways Agency Area 10.

Yotta DCL will give A-one+ a pixel-by-pixel accurate picture of existing inventory to compare with data held on the Highways Agency's computer system. The additional benefits for A-one+ of Yotta DCL's unique digital asset collection survey are speed, safety, lack of disruption to road users, and lower costs.

In a trial, Yotta DCL surveyed the M6 to compile an up-to-date status of white lining, signs, lamp columns and barriers. On the basis of the accuracy of the survey results, Yotta DCL was awarded the contract to extend the survey to the rest of the network for additional inventory items, including detector loops, anti-skid surfaces, kerbs, node points, road studs and marker posts.

"By using Yotta DCL's video we were able to check that we were getting true answers. We now wish to perform the asset collection survey across the entire 500km network to gain a complete snapshot of an extensive list of inventory," says Paul Stringer, Programme Development Manager, A-one.

The Yotta DCL survey team uses a specially designed and developed vehicle equipped with six automated cameras that provide a full street-level view of the highway. The cameras take a photograph every 2 metres as the vehicle drives along, with the precise position of each item recorded by GPS. These photographs are processed by the Nano software. The data is then evaluated and analysed pixel-by-pixel to give a highly accurate view of each inventory item captured on the journey.

"The key feature of the survey is accurate automatic asset extraction. This eradicates human error which is inherent to manual video reviews and significantly reduces the time taken to compile results. I believe nothing else on the market does this," concludes Paul Stringer.

Yes. Not much to add to trading update. Strong expectations for Yotta and defence and continued growth for the rest of the business. I am very confident in the ability of Nick Bolton and his team to develop the business and deliver substantial, profitable growth over the next few years.

Even then still only back to where it was a year ago!! That was before most of the exciting developments with Yotta and the military were announced. It deserves to be well above 65p now! Brokers have advised buying with a target of 105p months ago.

I think this will be touching 65 in the next 2 months if previous trends stay in play.

Good luck all Omg'ers

The market is still not recognising the potential of Yotta and 2d3 AIG in driving future profitability. The current share price provides a great opportunity to buy more at a substntial discount to intrinsic value.

During the past week from 13 Feb to 20 Feb the share price had fallen from 55p mid price to 47.5 mid price and only around 250,000 shares in total were traded. So not much institutional action there then! Absolutely no justification for the fall in share price either!
Today, on the other hand, about 324,000 shares were traded and two tranches of 80,000 were bought, could that be the reason these were walked down by the MMs on very little volume, because a purchaser wants in at a price?

There are some institutional sellers intent on reducung AIM holdings irrespective of the implications on share price. You can view it as a disaster short term, or a great buying opportunity given a 1-2 year timeframe.
Me..., I'm buying.

Listed on Aim and started the day on 20x earnings. I'm holding several cracking stocks, on target and trading at 7x to 9x earnings..... Great stock, stinking markets.

OMG closed at 47.5 today. Down from 64p. What am I missing?
Is OMG more exposed to the global downturn than I would guess? The Vicon
customer base of medical, film, etc shouldn't care about the downturn?
The weak dollar is an issue - the main competitor sells in $US.
Yotta sells into local government. Anybody got any insights into
the slide?

Interesting article. Cheers pgetty! Yotta has great potential for initial and recurring revenues. Defence contracts may take a while but will be big when it comes through. Very exciting few years ahead I think.

bb, I don't think it is OMG related but only reflects the unloved status of AIM shares at the moment. As you say, drifting lower on low volumes. I've been topping up.

A good company, exciting new markets, a strong balance sheet! So what's happening now then? Falling steadily over the past 10 days on low volume. Mms lowering the share price to let big boys in?

masrscb9, thanks for the information. In my experience EU projects are a mixed bag, but DEXMART seems to have reasonably focused objectives at least, and with forseeable applications. Hope they stay so. (Glad to see YOTTA is getting making today's revenue earning wins too.)
