A word of praise for Barclays Stockbrokers.

You may remember that they'd blocked people from buying ODX when I (and others) tried to buy the stock. I heard today from Barclays, apologising for acting incorrectly - they'd misinterpreted some communication or other from HMRC.

Since I tried to top up, the price has increased significantly. So they've agreed to buy the shares for me now, only debiting me with the (much lower) price I would have paid at the time, taking the difference themselves, and they've also agreed to give me £50 gratis into my trading account.

Result! And credit to Barclays.

The two trades represented the sell/buy side transactions involved in what was effectively just the transfer from the seller(s) to Oryx. Likely scenario is that a broker sourced the stock from a group of people happy to sell to Oryx.

There were two large trades yesterday, the above comment regarding Oryx being just one of them, it will be interesting to see who the other trade relates to.

The share price responded positively yesterday and likewise today but interesting to note that is still below the 17p placing in May 2013 that raised £4 million.

I think that Oryx have timed their purchase perfectly, for what it is worth I have recently tripled my original holding that I have held since 2012 taking full advantage of a share price around 14p

Yep - good to see Oryx now in with over 4%.

Institutional holders of 3%+ now hold over 60% of the shares in issue. A nice solid base, and quite tightly held which should be interesting if things progress to plan.

Comments from the CEO and the sales and marketing director here - slowly and increasingly more positive tidings here now re CD4, Automated Allergy etc:

If the COO's review is demonstrating significant upside in the core business , and there is now a potential solution to CD4 issues , let us hope we see the directors backing their judgement with share purchases ?

The statement below will start to bring a very profitable revenue hopefully within 12 months........

We are building up an extensive set of data which supports the speed and ease of use of our Allersys(R) reagents on the IDS iSYS(R) instrument and we expect to obtain CE marking early in the new financial year.

The current share price is easily justified on the core business alone, which:

- is producing around 1.3p EPS
- is backed up with a nice cash pile
- should continue to grow nicely given the specialisms in growth areas like food intolerance and infectious disease
- and the Indian facility is being completed and should provide lower cost production

Meanwhile CD4 and Automated Allergy are in the price for free.

Happy to hold.

Positive market reaction. The only thing missing from the Report was a realistic timetable for the 'systematic' progress on CD4. But point well made that they are not a one product company.

Agree, not long now till the launch of the automated platform. CD4 will sort its self out in time all looking positive

Reads well and realistic on CD4.
No BS.

Written to be easy to understand, no need to try to read between the lines.

Good.

Pinkfish, as I posted earlier, Barclays took their decision on October 21st, so only 2 weeks ago. It seems to be all completely irrelevant anyway now, and hopefully the brokers affected will sort it out soon.

rivaldo,

All my ODX are held in my SIPP.......

I had a lengthy conversation with ODX' extremely helpful FD.

It seems Barclays are now allowing telephone purchases of ODX within trading and ISA accounts, but not SIPPs. Apparently HMRC sent out an instruction that certain stocks should not be traded in SIPPs, but at first Barclays mistakenly initiated a blanket ban, which has now been lifted.

His (and my) suspicion is that some other company with "Omega" in its name came under scrutiny from HMRC, and either HMRC or Barclays (and other brokers) got their confused knickers in a twist. For example, here's just one "Omega" fraud from last year from a 5 second Google:

well, a delayed 125k trade at 16.8p first thing from Friday and a late trade from 12.53 for 300k at 17p at close, so it looks like someone is confident.......

I got stock to add to my holding and pleased that I did, although reading the posts about Barclays is a bit of a concern, i can understand "market makers" dropping stocks due to lack of volume/size or management decisions but not to buy shares when instructed to do so seems rather strange.
