Didn't OHM raise funds at just over 21p a few weeks back? What's that all about?

We know... I'm sure it'll all come good. Takes a while for these things to come good.

why would management sell out when the upside is much larger than any short term control premium, this is peoples careers/lives not your tenpence investment

I was thinking more hostile bid. Even that would cost them peanuts.

edit to add -

In addition, OHM will raise GBP2.6 million via a Placing of 12,023,572 New
Ordinary Shares at a price of 21.52 pence per Placing Share principally for
working capital purposes. The Issue Price represents a premium of 13.02p (153.2
per cent.) to the closing mid market price of 8.5p per Ordinary Share on 21
August 2009 (being the last practicable date prior to the issue of this
announcement).

Big 500k sell at the end, hope this doesn't set a trend for tomorrow. Worried now as bought in further today. Lots of upside, question is over what period will it take. I could be drawing my pension first and I'm only 31!!!!

As long are there are lots of new oil finds and the oil price keeps on going higher, then we are onto a guarenteed multi bagger.

I used to say the same sort of things about Cellcast, but I sold them to soon for 1.47p, and they are now 2.75p.

I'm surprised the Chinese have chosen this, rather than just making a bid.

Any thoughts people?

there has not been enough news and certainly no real analysis of how big this Chinese strategic deal is

nice to see a contract win, but this has still got a long way to go to prove its viable in the long term....still a high risk punt.

not for widows or orphans

KBC Peel Hunt analyst Andrew Shepherd-Barron says the contract from the Bureau of Geophysical Prospecting in China is encouraging.

'Although still loss-making, we believe OHM is less risky and on the path to recovery, and should be valued on that basis,' says Shepherd-Barron, who has a target price of 33 pence on the stock.

------------------------------------------

Actually Andrew's 'valuation' was 66p prior to this news and he had an arbitrary risk discount of 50%.
