In April, another Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) was added to the company's fleet that provides maritime shipping support to Brazilian oil and natural gas exploration and production activities. "The PSV Saveiros Fragata, as announced last quarter, is currently chartered to Petrobras, which is in line with company strategy of growing in its Offshore segment", explained Felipe Gutterres, Wilson Sons' CFO and Investor Relations Director. With 170 years of experience, Wilson Sons has a national network and provides a complete set of services to participants in international trade in the port and maritime sectors. The company's main activities are: port terminals, towage, logistics, ship agency, and offshore. SOURCE Wilson Sons Limited | davebowler
02/1/2008 16:09 | Looking good today. Hansa trust with a big holding also looking good. Still selling at about a 10% to net asset value. | pip_uk
17/12/2007 13:48 | This is interesting. Dooes anyone have access to the UBS research? | shuisky
31/10/2007 17:23 | Seems like some fairly chunky buys going through over the last week. Good to see the price following. I wonder who the new buyer is? | neckygiraffe
23/10/2007 09:37 | Thanks for the thread work. This stock seems to give a good exposure to Brazil , the shipping markets down there and Hansas investmnent management skills in finding decent investments with a focus on South America. As such it looks like a reasonable play for me and it pays a dividend so I'm in. | robsy2
18/10/2007 16:04 | giles hargreaves, of marlborough special sits fund fame, named this as one of his ten fave plays on citywire recently... | rambutan2
18/10/2007 11:25 | db - if you are looking at the chart in the header, with the particular mix of MAs used there, it doesn't quite make a GC, as the line being crossed has to also be rising - which it dioesn't appear to be yet.. On the other hand, if you are using some other mix of MAs, or using simple rather than exponential (which I 've not checked) the crossovers will be placed a little differently. By the same logic I wouldn't have counted the downward crossover in June as adead cross until confirmed by the downturn of the crossed line. | m.t.glass

12/10/2007 11:53 | Have a look at the graphs for shipping related companies- CKN, BMS,GOC,GLBS- if this follows we should be in for a good run! | davebowler
11/9/2007 13:48 | From the results I read a NAV of about $16.24 (8 quid'ish) i.e. no discount. Am I reading this wrong? I am very impressed by the growth in the underlying Brazilian business and think that the share is worth a punt on this basis. | bengt
16/8/2007 04:29 | imho, rather than doubling the interim dividend, a special tax free cash distribution would alert the market to the real underlying value of this company after all, the sale of 41% of wilson bros was a one off event !!! however the salomons want to put more money to work on our behalf in global equities;notwithstan sell some shares instead ? hell no, they are allready trading at a big enough discount to true nav. | cg1953
15/8/2007 10:16 | With Wilson Sons doing well, and plenty of cash to invest, OCN should continue to reward the few investors that appreciate its merits. | grgkecer
15/8/2007 09:34 | Lots of stuff to read in Interim Results this morning. Including the view they take of equity investments in general.. No significant impact yet on share price. | m.t.glass
08/8/2007 15:46 | Well it looks like OCN has finally started its next leg up...With such a long consolidation, one would expect an explosive move...none as yet...long a few | nirvs
19/6/2007 13:15 | Thanks it seems that Wilson Bros is in the sweet spot for an export led economy like Brazil. On 31 May07 Hansa trust holding of OCN represented 32.6% of their total assets.Wm Salamon and his sister have a lot of their wealth tied up in OCN and Hansa.... so watch this space ... marketability in OCN is poor so the Hansa board may well ask the manager to extract more value from the OCN holding ..so I would not be surprised to see an AIM quote for Wilson bros an in specie distribution to shareholders to unlock the value and get rid of the 30% discount . | bench2
18/6/2007 17:02 | But don't forget: Dragaport Our associated dredging company Dragaport had an excellent performance in 2006, performing work at the Brasfels shipyard site (Angra dos Reis Rio de Janeiro State) and in the ports of Rio Grande, Santos and Rio de Janeiro. | grgkecer
18/6/2007 16:38 | Thanks for the link, interesting to read that economy only growing at 4% ..bureacracy a nightmare ..very difficult to get things done as so many people looking for a kickback...dredging Santos a good example. The danger for OCN holders is this may be as good as it gets ! | bench2
18/6/2007 16:37 | At the current 28 Reals, Wilson Sons is just 25% up on the flotation price in US dollar terms. | grgkecer
18/6/2007 15:15 | Brazil tries to seize economic momentum | grgkecer
15/6/2007 21:14 | OCN has crystalized considerable value for shareholders by floating WS and now has non Brazilian Port assets of 412p per share or 32.5% of Net Assets. | bench2 |
