M.T.Glass : are you sure? Most of the pictures are omni directional.

and shouldn't 'readers' have been put in inverted commas?

Q: Why does The Sun have pictures on every page?
A: So its readers know which way up to hold it.

Ok : the Sun is after all Sister Paper to the Times (which has gone steadily down hill recently.

However, NWF is a little hidden Gem - and I am still a happy holder.

Hate to admit it but in the broader sense of the meaning, yes , very much so.
As a financial leader, clearly no but is it not true that there is no such thing as bad publicity...

And not just any distributor. 120K profit after tax : cost under half a million. Amazing buy really - one wonders why the existing owners let it go so cheaply. But it dies fit with their existing feeds business really well.

Hmmm... I have only just noticed this new thread on NWF. Cracking company which I have held for years. Don't really want to buy more but a very happy holder (I have capital gains rolled over into this one so it would be expensive to sell anyway)

Good to see you on here VeryNervy!

UK: Boughey Distribution gets Somerfield contract
11 Aug 2005
Source: just-food.com

Supermarket Somerfield has awarded a contract to Boughey Distribution Ltd, a subsidiary of sales and distribution business NWF Group, to manage a primary consolidation operation on behalf of Somerfield from its Wardle depot in Cheshire.

Boughey has considerable experience in this arena and has been chosen by Somerfield to consolidate existing stocks with a significant number of suppliers, predominantly from the north west region, NWF said.

The provision of approximately 2,500 additional pallet locations and development of a cross docking zone have enabled Boughey to offer a flexible and timely storage and distribution solution.

"This opportunity is excellent news for Boughey and we are excited by the opportunity that a major UK retailer has given us," said Graham Scott, chief executive, NWF. "We are fully committed to aiding improvement of their supply chain during this important phase in their development. With our planned expansion at Wardle and our sites at Winsford and Deeside we are increasingly being asked by big supermarket chains to act as their primary consolidator in the North West."

"We had a very clear view of exactly what we were looking for in an ambient consolidation operation," said Richard Parker, head of primary distribution at Somerfield. The project team visited many potential operators before finally selecting Boughey. The selection of Boughey was based on their considerable experience of consolidation, their flexibility, their capacity for growth and not least of all the passion and commitment demonstrated during the tendering process to winning the business. The operation has now been live for nearly four months and the faith that Somerfield have shown in selecting Boughey has to date proved well founded."

Gateside

Have been out of these for a while and observing - obviously a lot of bad news is out now and things are beginning to stabilise

It is now only fairly valued on low expectations.

The only question remaining unanswered and preventing me buying is what will the results show - if good they should climb and the buying opp is gone

if poorer than expected they will drop a little further probably

the company have done nothing wrong they are the victims of outside influences which it seems could be at the worst part of the cycle now!

Infact they are becomming a juicy titbit for any interested buyer.

itsallaguess - how do you feel??

Your postings have edit on them as YOU are allowed to edit them!!No one else!
As for solid info - I have none but I do know that plenty of the movement was speculative rather than based upon facts. Does anyone know when we are to get the next trading update/results?
Cheers

There is a great lack of information from any source about this company at present, & the share price says they are in serious trouble profit wise. I sold half my holding at a good profit before the big drop but still hold the other half, these are worth less than half what they were of course. On the back of some geniune info I would either sell these or double my holding again! (I wonder why my postings always have "Edit" on the top line?

Three times it's failed to get past 577.5p - if it makes it this time it'll likely find itself above the 200ema as well (Sharescope settings - already above 50ema now)

Edit: Got there but came to nowt.
