Apparently £100mil+ contract is only worth £3mil to the cap. Got to correct at some point.

I would be guessing but I expect Interserve after their woes are having to appraise all projects very carefully indeed and will be looking for more margin to reflect risk

Well sometimes IMO smaller operators can be more nimble and operate more effectively than likes of KIer etc.. still IMO looks like this hasn't been properly reflected in share price yet DYor and gla

When the big boys start walking away from work it suggests to me something about being better able to deploy their resources elsewhere and rising margins.

North Midland Construction has stepped-in to build a £100m water treatment plant after an Interserve/Kier joint venture walked away from the deal.
North Midland will now start construction this summer in a joint venture with Barhale on the new Water treatment plant at Frankley for Severn Trent Water.

The plant is part of the Birmingham Resilience Project and will take three years to build.

The Enquirer revealed in April that Severn Trent Water had parted company with its preferred contractors on the job.

The Interserve/Kier joint venture agreement was terminated following a six month Early Contractor Involvement period.

The Enquirer understands that both sides were unable to agree a price with the original contractors viewing a realistic build price at around the £115m-£130m mark.

North Midland said the deal was “worth in excess of £100m” and will now mean results for the full year to December 2017 are ahead of management expectations.

Good to see you here ic2, these do seem good value. Their underlying results are strong and they now have some momentum behind them. Quite an impressive contract win this morning.

Agree that contract and ahead statement this morning was significant and a major catalyst here. I bought some at the open and after finishing my research I bought some more because I can see good potential ahead. Low margin but management said in the last AGM that this was unsatisfactory, so it looks like they will target this are.

Pleased to see the last of the legacy contracts was completed last year, and it seems like management have tried to allow a fair amount in provisions last year at £3.85m, if so and the division builds on the profits reported in QI, we might see a major surprise in earnings.

I almost bought 31st March but hesitated, still better late than never and good to see well respected poster here before me.

Expected more from such a large contract.

Happy to hold tho as looks very undervalued looking through previous results etc.

this is not a largish cap, it is £34m! Small cap by most city standards. And there is no stock IMO around so decent buying, few share tips and this should really start motoring, have topped up this morning....great contract win and update IMO and DYOR....am pencilling in much much higher before I leave, EV/EBITDA is the key IMO.....£10 here we come GLA

Bought some buy not showing. Largish cap so wouldn't expect it to spike too much but can see this re-rating of the back of that over next few days/weeks.

NMD tend not to rns contract wins as a rule, so imo this will have a very material impact on results.

yup, up 50p, this was cheap on an EV/EBITDA basis IMO anyway, so now this, I reckon this should be at least double where we are now....GLA....and DYOR

MASSIVE boom...sorry couldn't help myself....yes it would be good to know what management expectations are but even at single digit margins, this should add materially to EBTIDA IMO>...DYOR and here is to NMD "bagging" this year....

Well that's welcome news. Would be nice to know what management expectations were so we could try and quantify the news.

Well done NMD!

well it would just be nice to know what the forecasts are! Surely some broker must have a note out there on NMD? C'mon Mr FD buying shares, sort your IR out and get a broker note in the market so we can see!

I'm not worried about forecasts but it would be nice to have some though given the choice I would prefer the director buying and increased shareholding from a well established holder.

With this being a relatively illiquid share and largely news driven I expect it could be fairly quiet until August. Let's hope we have more positive news then with regard to the revenue, operating margin and net cash balance. In terms of the later, I expect it to be 1/3rd of the current market cap once FY2017 results come around.

I wouldn't worry about the forecast. If the finance director is buying at these levels and Mr. Charlton that's all we need to know.

Anyone got forecasts? Just checked Research Tree and nothing for Dec 17 or beyond although N1 talking very positively back in April, but can't see future expectations?

cheers in advance
