08/3/2021 08:54 | Brokers estimates allowing for the drop of off mass tasting in the next three years is 13 to 14 pounds. The pe ratio finding it's own level during this time. What you cannot price into estimates is product innovation and revenue generating corporate action. And novacyt have got to this position by using both of those. | bobdown2

07/3/2021 18:53 | So how much will the schools LFT testing regime add to NCYT? Aunt Sally:- 7m school age, suppose 1 in 300 test (can't remember where I recently saw a statistic like that) +ve in a month = 23k and are then sent for pcr test. At £20 per test that gives £0.5m pm pcr revenue. Perhaps double if there are as many false positives as true positives from the LFT? Maybe double again if another family member tests +ve? But then how much of the pcr market flows (sorry!) to NCYT? Or perhaps a lot more if the twice weekly (?) lFT throws up a lot more false positives that still have to be pcr'd? Anyone care to refine this guess? | sf5

07/3/2021 09:27 | Looks like LFT are being purchased. Copy of editorial from Sky News re this type of testsLateral flow testingThese tests are designed to identify asymptomatic people and have been used across England after a pilot in Liverpool. It uses similar technology to a pregnancy test.A swab is inserted into the nose or throat, then the sample is inserted into a tube of liquid for a short time which extracts the molecule that determines if COVID-19 is present. No laboratory equipment is needed as a few drops of liquid are then dropped onto a small strip.Within 15 minutes, the strip of paper will show up with two lines if it is positive, one line on the top if it is negative or one line on the bottom if the test is invalid. While the test result returns very quickly, there are questions over its sensitivity, with initial tests by PHE Porton Down and the University of Oxford of the Innova lateral flow test being used in Liverpool finding 76.8% sensitivity - the proportion of people with COVID-19 who show up positive. The team also found the Innova test had a specificity - the proportion of people without the disease who have a negative test - of 99.68%, meaning the false positive rate was 0.32%.However, they found it detects more than 95% of people with high viral loads, with little difference between those who are symptomatic and asymptomatic.SAGE, the government's scientific advisory group, warned that with mass testing, false positives and false negatives could have "critical implications" for effectiveness, therefore a follow-up confirmatory test is highly important. | little minx
