Interesting therefore, that having sold all the way down they have now stopped. Perhaps they have learnt something :)

Anyone buying or holding NOG here is nuts. From what I can tell Standard Life still hold 6.6m shares and they were happy to sell at 6.3p previously. When these guys wake up they could flood the market with stock.

The current enterprise value of this group is sub $500m, making it a prime candidate for takeover. A purchaser will get in return a $2.1bn infrastructure hub and one of the largest oil and gas resources in the region. The hydrocarbons are there - what is required is a larger partner/purchaser to triple+ current exploration spend to get them over the line. Yes, an interested party could wait and hope a better price opportunity emerges, but given the scale and commercial readiness of the operation (they are already producing) then it is difficult to believe that only one party are going to be interested. Kazakhstan has been the recipient of more inward investment than any other ex soviet state in the modern era. Goldman Sachs are working to maximise the value of the enterprise. Of course there are risks, though I suspect they sit largely in the lap of the shorters. GLA :)
